Glohow Holdings Pte. Ltd. has announced that its action role-playing game, Black Beacon, will be shutting down on December 31st. The game, which launched globally in April 2025 after pre-registration opened in December 2024, is being discontinued earlier than expected due to operational issues.

Despite efforts, devs confirm end of service following the 1.3 version update

Even though the game received a lot of criticism worldwide, I was surprised by this recent decision. For anyone unfamiliar, Black Beacon is a sci-fi action RPG where you play as an Outlander and experience a detailed story in a beautifully crafted world. You’ll embark on an adventure with charming characters and enjoy exciting combat.

The Black Beacon Team has announced that the game will be shutting down on December 31st. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), they explained that ongoing operational issues with the global service mean they can’t continue support after the 1.3 version update.

Players are eligible for compensation and refunds depending on their spending

After the recent announcement, the game is no longer available to download and all purchases within the app and online store have been turned off. But don’t worry, you’ll continue to receive daily support items – including 1000 Rune Shards and 2 Large Spherical Fruits – until November 30th. Starting December 1st, we’ll send these items every Monday, and you’ll also have the option to get a refund for any Rune Stones you haven’t used.

I’m really disappointed to see this game shut down, as I always thought it had a lot of promise. Many fans feel the same way – one player said it “absolutely broke my heart” because they loved the story and characters so much. Others are upset with the developers, particularly regarding how rewards were handled and other problems.
