Recently, the game called Black Beacon faced a massive wave of criticism worldwide when players expressed their anger about unfair pay after its challenging start in China. Initially appearing as a local problem, it soon ballooned into a global predicament, forcing developers to issue a collective apology and make necessary adjustments to the compensation system.
Black Beacon faced launch problems and received accusations of selective favouritism
As a dedicated fan of Black Beacon, I can’t help but notice the stark inequality in the way different regions were handled during its challenging global debut. While we all grappled with technical hurdles such as login failures, screen freezes, and emulator malfunctions, it seems that the compensation offered was not proportionate to the trouble experienced by each region.
Black Beacon CN launch had big issues (as expected) even after beta testing on global players. However CN players also got many more apology rewards including 5* selector and limited pulls… Global players are not happy.

Two weeks after the China-based server went live, it encountered similar issues, prompting an apology from the developers. To make amends, Chinese players were offered a special package that included a top-tier character selection option and 30 premium chances to acquire characters (valid for 30 days). On the other hand, global players received only 30 standard draws, which came from a temporary code with an expiration date. Unlike their Chinese counterparts, global players did not receive a character selector or any premium currency; they were given only a small portion of what the China players received.

The contrast was significant, and a negative response was predictable. The game’s rating on Google Play dropped significantly, falling below 2.0 stars, symbolizing widespread dissatisfaction worldwide. Many players, among them myself, felt like we were subjected to beta testing, enduring the worst of launch bugs, while another region received superior rewards for the same problems.
The Community speaks — And the Devs respond to the outrage
Mingzhou Studio’s latest announcement assures “uniform reimbursement” from now on, which is a positive move. However, after several weeks without communication, trust among the players is quite delicate. Some still question whether future handling will indeed be fair and equal, or if preferential treatment towards certain regions may resurface again.
One of the players’ comments stated, “To be honest, I don’t feel like returning to this game anymore. The optimization is poor, rewards for Global are minimal, and it takes them 2-3 weeks to fix their mistakes. I won’t be playing it again.” (in response to the apology email)

As a gamer, I might phrase it this way: “Despite my concerns being valid, some players have shown optimism, although initially hesitant. One user commented, ‘I understand that a lot of damage has been done, but let’s hope that this sets a foundation for the developers to recover and start making improvements from here on out.’
Black Beacon is an outstanding game in every aspect, boasting intense battles, breathtaking graphics, and a captivating narrative. Yet, the fact that this issue hurts even more is that players should not need to fight for fair treatment, especially when loyalty deserves recognition instead of being taken for granted. The developers have an opportunity to rectify the situation, and it would be wonderful if they follow through—not just by speaking up, but by demonstrating through their actions that our global player community is equally valued.
