Danika Mason, a sports presenter on the Today show, caused some surprise with her relaxed style while reporting live from the Winter Olympics in Italy. The segment received a strong reaction from viewers, leading Channel Nine to disable comments.

Mason joined Karl Stefanovic and Jayne Azzopardi on Wednesday morning via live remote. She was standing outside in a snowstorm around 10 p.m. local time and playfully chatted about the cost of coffee while making snow angels.

People watching the broadcast quickly noticed Mason seemed to be struggling with her speech, slurring her words and having trouble finishing her sentences while reporting the sports news.

Despite the cold weather making it hard to talk, she continued with the broadcast. Karl and Jane pointed out the difficult conditions, and the presenter was clearly trying to stay warm while speaking.

Social media users were quick to offer their own tongue-in-cheek commentary about her segment.

One viewer noticed Danika didn’t seem well, and another wondered if she was feeling sick based on how she sounded.

Someone playfully commented on a funny moment during a sports broadcast, noting that Karl, Sarah, and Jane were jokingly pretending Danika was too cold to speak. They called it the most entertaining sports news of the year so far.

Last year, while enjoying a romantic trip to Europe, the woman with brown hair shared the news that she’s engaged to NRL player Liam Knight.

She announced on social media that Liam proposed to her while they were on a beautiful beach in Italy.

After months of rumors, the couple officially confirmed they are dating on social media. The footballer posted a photo on Instagram of him hugging Danika, making their relationship public.

‘My life’s good,’ Liam wrote in the caption, alongside the couple sharing a cuddle.

In September 2023, Mason ended her relationship with her fiancé, Todd Liubinskas, only three weeks before their wedding was scheduled to take place.

The Daily Mail reported that Liubinskas, who works as a personal trainer, asked his fiancée, Danika, to return the diamond engagement ring, explaining it had been passed down in his family.

Mason also kept the $1.5 million Maroubra home she shared with her ex-fiancé.

She later confirmed the couple split due to a ‘breakdown in trust.’
