Lindsay Wagner was one of the hottest blonde bombshells of the 1970s.
She became famous for her role on the popular TV series Bionic Woman, where she played Jaime Sommers, a tennis player who received bionic implants after a skydiving accident.
The super strong Jaime is then snapped up by the government to become a special agent.
Honestly, after seeing her with Lee Majors in The Six Million Dollar Man, I couldn’t get enough! I tracked everything they did together, and I was SO thrilled when they kept appearing in other shows together! And get this – she even showed up on his other series, The Fall Guy! It was amazing, truly. I just lived for any chance to see them share the screen.
And the blonde has appeared more recently on Grey’s Anatomy.
Fans recently spotted the 76-year-old actress at an event where she happily signed autographs. The Los Angeles native appeared remarkably youthful, dressed casually and wearing glasses.

As a lifestyle expert, I often get asked about classic TV, and one show people remember fondly is The Bionic Woman. It actually started as a spin-off from the hugely popular Six Million Dollar Man series back in the 1970s – a really fun piece of science fiction and action that launched this incredible female-led show!
Despite lasting only three seasons – from 1976 to 1978 – Bionic Woman was a memorable show for viewers.
This show follows Jamie Sommers, a tennis star whose life is dramatically changed after a near-fatal skydiving accident.
Like her late fiancé, Steve Austin – famously known as the Six Million Dollar Man and portrayed by Lee Majors – she has been reconstructed with advanced, mechanical parts.
Jamie offers to use her extraordinary abilities – including super hearing and the ability to run at 60 miles per hour – to assist the US government.
Often Lee would guest-star on Wagner’s show. She also had a German Shepard named Maximillian.
Her career began in 1969 when she appeared as a contestant on the game show The Dating Game. Interestingly, actor Roger Ewing was one of the men vying for her attention, though she didn’t select him.
Wagner appeared in several popular television shows, including Adam-12, Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law with Lee Majors, The F.B.I., Sarge, and Night Gallery.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I always find it interesting to look back at early TV appearances! Between 1971 and 1975, I had the pleasure of being featured in five episodes of the classic medical drama Marcus Welby, M.D., and also made appearances in two episodes of the exciting detective series, The Rockford Files. It was a wonderful time to be on television!

In 1973, Wagner was cast in Two People, which was her first feature film and her first lead role.
She also co-starred in The Paper Chase the same year.
In 1975, she landed a part on The Six Million Dollar Man and quickly starred in its spin-off, The Bionic Woman, which first aired in January 1976.
After The Bionic Woman was cancelled in 1978, Wagner appeared in the 1980 miniseries Scruples and then played Sylvester Stallone’s ex-wife in the 1981 film Nighthawks.

In 1983, she also appeared in an episode of Lee Majors’ series The Fall Guy.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE how amazing George Wagner was in Ricochet back in ’91! Seriously, action perfection. And then, years later, he was in Buckaroo: The Movie – I can’t even! And then Four Extraordinary Women? He just keeps getting better and better! I’ve seen them all, of course, multiple times.
In 2010, Wagner began Warehouse 13 then Alphas in 2011.
She appeared in Grey’s Anatomy as Alex Karev’s mother, Helen Karev, over the course of two seasons.
In 2021, Wagner starred in the holiday romance film Christmas at the Ranch with Amanda Righetti.
From 1987 to 2000, Wagner was the face of Ford dealerships in Southern California, appearing in their television commercials.
