Billy Ray Cyrus has faced criticism online for referring to Elizabeth Hurley as “the love of my life” just two months into their public relationship.

63-year-old Billy Ray Cyrus, known for his hit “Achy Breaky Heart,” took to Instagram on Tuesday to write a heartfelt message in honor of his longtime partner’s 60th birthday. Notably, this isn’t the first time Mr. Cyrus has been married – he’s had three weddings before.

In April, they first made public their romantic involvement by snuggling up in a photograph from the Easter holiday weekend.

In a sweet moment, Cyrus took a charming photograph with Elizabeth sitting on his lap, both of them grinning broadly for the camera.

She wore a top with a distinctive pattern, coupled with denim jeans, and atop her flowing hair sat a black cowboy hat.

Billy wore a brown shirt along with sunglasses, and he wrote in the caption: ‘Wishing a happy birthday to the one I adore ❤️.’

Social media users jumped to the comment to offer mixed reactions to the singer’s latest post. 

Hurley also shared her response to Billy’s birthday wish with an assortment of red heart emojis. 

In a show of support, Damian, their 23-year-old son, responded with a red heart emoji to their relationship status. Elizabeth’s former partner is Steven Bing.

A different user commented, ‘Are you newly in a relationship? Your soulmate, it’s quite amusing,’ while another chimed in, ‘You’ve only just met her, laughing emoji.’ In simpler terms, one fan joked that they were surprised to hear about the new couple since their partner seemed like a recent acquaintance, and another playfully suggested that they had not been introduced yet.

On her 60th birthday, Hurley posted an Instagram image of herself in the nude, taken outdoors, offering a glimpse beyond modesty.

In this caption, the actress expressed: ‘I’m celebrating my birthday! Approximately two months ago, Billy and Elizabeth made their relationship public by snuggling up in a picture during their Easter celebration.

In May last month, they first appeared on the red carpet as a duo at the Orizzonti | Rosso Exhibition Opening Dinner in Rome, and their son Damian was there alongside them too.

At that moment, Billy chose an all-black outfit, whereas Hurley caught everyone’s attention in a vibrant hot pink dress that accentuated her fit physique.

The artist shared bits of their experience at the event on their Instagram, accompanied by the caption, ‘In Rome with my lovely girlfriend 💕.’

In addition, the actress from “The Royals” attended the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s 2025 Hot Pink Party in New York City in May. She also shared some insights on her relationship during an exclusive chat with DailyMail.com.

She expressed her joy by saying, “I am really delighted with my current relationship,” and went on to note, “Billy is an amazing individual and we bring great happiness to one another.

Ahead of her birthday, a source told The Sun that Cyrus ‘is besotted with Liz.

He later gushed that the actress is ‘a great human being’ and also ‘impressively brilliant.’
