On a Friday, Billy Ray Cyrus unveiled plans for a fresh album following a less-than-impressive appearance at the Liberty Ball after the inauguration and as tensions within his family escalated due to fresh revelations from his latest divorced spouse.

Two days following Cyrus’s shaky performance at his two-song inaugural concert in Washington, D.C., Cyrus’s son Trace raised concerns about the artist. Later on Thursday, Cyrus’s ex-wife Firerose echoed Trace’s sentiments in her own public statements.

Similar to how he downplayed worries surrounding his Liberty Ball performance, Billy Ray Cyrus seemed to address similar matters on Friday by announcing that his upcoming album will be produced by his son, Braison. Earlier in the week, there had been no response from Billy Ray’s representatives regarding family-related issues.

The two-time Grammy Award winner declared on Friday, “Art mirrors life, and life mirrors art.” Essentially, this project revolves around art. Firerose’s thoughts were sparked by Trace Cyrus’ public letter on social media, published on Wednesday. In this letter, Trace expressed concern about Billy Ray Cyrus, his father and also his siblings – pop stars Miley Cyrus, Noah Cyrus, and Brandi Cyrus – who he stated were “truly anxious” regarding the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer. Trace mentioned that it was becoming difficult for him to recognize his father as the man he once admired, and he has been concerned for years. He asserted that Billy Ray had distanced himself from all of them.

Cyrus and Firerose, who initially bonded in the early 2000s on the set of Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” and rekindled their connection years down the line, made their engagement public in November 2022. They tied the knot in October 2023, but unfortunately, their marriage didn’t last long as they announced divorce less than a year later.
