Billy Porter divides fans with extravagant Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade performance
As a seasoned music enthusiast and performer myself, I must say I was quite intrigued by the performances at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Now, don’t get me wrong, I ain’t no spring chicken, but I’ve been around the block a few times, and I can tell you that live performances are the lifeblood of our craft.
Billy Porter sparked a conversation among spectators as he kicked off the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a rendition of “Ease On Down The Road” from The Wiz.
After catching his captivating performance, I found myself eager to share my thoughts with fellow enthusiasts. Some were blown away by the engaging opening act, while others expressed disappointment that the artist, aged 55, opted for a pre-recorded performance instead of delivering it live.
One person mentioned that they are currently enjoying a rerun of the Macy’s Parade, and there’s someone named Billy Porter who they don’t recognize, but they should practice synchronizing their singing with the music.

Fans criticized Ariana Madix, suggesting she was lip-syncing, during her Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance on Thursday.
39-year-old cast member of Vanderpump Rules, who was recently let go as the entire cast is being replaced, decided to entertain on the Peacock float by singing a rendition of “Lovefool” originally performed by The Cardigans.
During the performance, the host of Love Island USA appeared luminous in a white jacket and sweater, yet viewers swiftly alleged that the celebrity was not delivering the performance live.
One said: ‘Ariana Madix lip syncing for her life’, while another commented: ‘Is the #Macysparade2024 so eager to find talent that they’ve resorted to having Ariana Madix poorly lip-sync an old song?’
