Billie Shepherd disclosed that her child, Margot, had to be quickly taken to the hospital due to a distressing and unsettling health emergency at their home.
As a devoted mother of three, I proudly share this beautiful journey with my beloved husband Greg. Our family includes Nelly, who is ten years old, the energetic Arthur at seven, and our youngest, precious Margot, who just turned two.
On Wednesday, Billie shared via Instagram that Margot experienced a febrile seizure, which is a type of seizure that may take place in children due to high fever.
Margot was quickly taken to the Emergency Room, and her mother posted a photo showing the toddler recuperating in a hospital bed, snuggling with her stuffed toy.
In a note, Billie penned, ‘Dear my sweet Margot,’ expressing that she and Margot wound up at the hospital the previous day because of her fever-induced seizures resulting from an elevated body temperature.
‘It really is just so terrifying and upsetting but she is on the mend now.’
Last May, Billie vividly remembered the frightening instance when she urgently called for an ambulance upon finding herself and her daughter Margot hastily rushing to the hospital following yet another seizure earlier that year.
Billie pondered over the terrifying instance when her child became rigid after experiencing a sudden increase in body temperature, prompting her to urgently take the infant to the emergency room.
In the premiere episode of Billie and Greg: The Family Diaries, broadcasted on Thursday, she pondered over the intense health crisis that unfolded.
In the episode, it was announced over narration that Billie and Greg found themselves in a critical situation, leading them to urgently take their daughter, Margot, to the hospital.
Later on, Billie mentioned in a video clip: ‘We visited Greg’s sister’s place for lunch, but Margot wasn’t feeling her best. She had a rosy complexion.’
She might have been going through teething, it was just a typical occurrence. While the children were eating, I briefly looked away, and suddenly Margot became completely rigid.
Immediately, I pulled her from the high chair, and the next thing I recall is me shouting, “Someone assist me,” followed by her no longer breathing. In a panic, I cried out, “Someone dial 911!
Billie went on saying, “As for me, it’s all about my mind…” At this point, she became emotional and cried, but was soon consoled by her husband Greg.
She explained further: ‘Upon reaching the hospital, they diagnosed her with a febrile seizure, which occurs when the body’s temperature rises extremely fast, causing the body to attempt temperature regulation. This sudden rise in temperature can trigger seizures in some infants and young children.’
In the hospital, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of belonging, as if this was exactly where I should be. It somehow eased my worries and filled me with a touch of confidence.
‘After six hours in A&E, the doctors sent us home and asked us just to keep an eye on Margot.’
Earlier this March, the mother of three shared that her daughter Margot had fallen ill due to a virus infection.
In an Instagram post she wrote: ‘One exhausted mumma. My little darling Margot has had a nasty virus, on Sunday Margot had a febrile seizure, it was the most terrifying moment of my life.
Due to a sudden rise in her body temperature, I became incredibly worried and unsure of how to handle the situation. Naturally, we phoned for an ambulance, and she received an examination at the hospital.
