Billie Piper in new look at Netflix series from End of the F***ing World boss
As a lifelong fan of Greek mythology and a binge-watcher of contemporary dark comedies, I am beyond thrilled about the upcoming Netflix series “Kaos”. The star-studded cast, the intriguing premise, and the contemporary take on ancient myths have me hooked.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t wait to dive into the world of “Kaos“, the fresh, darkly humorous series coming soon on Netflix, featuring the brilliant performances of Billie Piper and Jeff Goldblum. A thrilling new trailer has just dropped!
In this series, penned by Charlie Covell, who is known for writing “The End of the F***ing World,” we see a modern adaptation of Greek mythology unfold. The mighty Zeus, portrayed by Goldblum, starts to disintegrate after he comes to terms with the possibility that he could be mortal.
The upcoming series premiere on August 29 boasts an impressive ensemble cast, consisting of Janet McTeer, David Thewlis, Eddie Izzard, Cliff Curtis, Killian Scott, and Debi Mazar. At this time, the specifics regarding Piper’s guest appearance remain undisclosed.
Besides Rakie Ayola, Stephen Dillane, Aurora Perrineau, Nabhaan Rizwan, Misia Butler, and Stanley Townsend, the production also features Greek gods such as Hades, Poseidon, Orpheus, and Medusa, portrayed in the story.
“For eons, Zeus reigned supreme among the gods without any real challenge. Yet, one ordinary morning, he finds an unexpected change – a wrinkle on his forehead, which could potentially shake up his reign.”
In this rephrased version, let’s say: “Zeus, the god of gods, believes that an ancient prophecy predicting his demise has started unfolding. This belief leads him to develop anxiety, as he becomes convinced that his downfall is imminent. As his fear takes over, he begins to exhibit self-destructive behavior and sees signs of doom everywhere. Regrettably, his concerns are not unfounded.”
In a twist of events, Zeus’s former ally and current captive, Prometheus (Dillane), is devising a strategy to overthrow him. This scheme entails three ordinary humans, each oblivious to their immense cosmic importance and the crucial role they are destined to play in preserving the world. Needless to say, there’s a bit of pressure involved.
The series titled “Kaos” is characterized as a modern adaptation of Greek mythology, offering a daring, darkly humorous perspective on themes such as love, power, and the underworld’s existence. In total, it will encompass eight episodes, with the directing responsibilities being shared between Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo.
Kaos premieres on Netflix on August 29.
