Billie Piper and Laura Whitmore Stun in Dramatic Outfit Changes at BAFTA TV Awards After Party

Following an evening celebrating television’s most distinguished personalities, Billie Piper and Laura Whitmore were part of the group that cut loose at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises after-party held at The Royal Festival Hall on a Sunday night.

Billie, aged 42, stepped out of her stunning pink evening gown that she had worn for the event, and switched to a sleek black mini dress for the post-party festivities.

She teamed her flowing skater dress with a stylish black-and-white bomber jacket, characterized by a zip-up style.

Billie finished her more casual look with a pair of black and white strappy heeled sandals.

She carried her possessions in a stylish black leather handbag while striking numerous poses next to Layton Williams.

40-year-old television host Laura exuded elegance in a stunning, off-the-shoulder crimson dress that boasted an extremely high slit up the leg.

She increased the height of her tall figure when she put on a pair of thick, black platform shoes by Christian Louboutin.

As a devoted admirer, I might say: Having traded my earlier attire of a chic black-and-white suit, I chose to amp up the glamour for the occasion by donning a bold, full makeup look. Stepping out, I caught eyes with passersby in my vibrant red lipstick.

Laura completed her post-party ensemble with a sleek black suede handbag, sparkling gold earrings, and a shiny gold bracelet.

At the gathering, Layton made an impact when he emerged wearing a sleek, silver-trimmed black jacket with a structured design.

30-year-old Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu made quite the sparkling entrance, donning a shimmering silver gown with a trailing hem and a single shoulder design.

Jessica Wright, aged 39, showcased her long legs in an eye-catching manner while wearing a stylish black and silver off-the-shoulder dress. She complemented the dress with tall black stilettos for added elegance.

To bring a splash of vibrancy to the night, Pips Taylor emerged wearing a bold, orange ruffled tiered gown and complementing it with golden Terri De Havilland pumps.

The post-party had all the elegance of a high-class event, with circular tables adorned with stylish pink rose arrangements and soft, inviting candles.

2025 BAFTA Television Awards hosted by P&O Cruises were graced with several famous faces accepting accolades for exceptional television work during a dazzling event that took place in London’s Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday evening.

On this occasion, Mr. Bates and The Post Office were the main victors, earning an additional pair of awards, further expanding the impressive collection of honors for the innovative ITV program.

Frankly speaking, I couldn’t help but cheer loudest when BBC emerged victorious, racking up an impressive 17 awards at the end of a stunning year of broadcasting. The event, graciously hosted by the talented Alan Cumming, was nothing short of a spectacle.

Additionally, both “Baby Reindeer” on Netflix and the iconic Christmas episode of “Gavin & Stacey” received significant accolades.

It is widely anticipated that the conflict between Mr. Bates and The Post Office will likely dominate Sunday night, as they have already been awarded for Best Limited Drama early on.

We were able to film this production thanks to Polly Hill at ITV preventing our cancellation. The influence it had was significant because the viewers united and passionately demanded action, which ignited such fury that the government felt compelled to respond.

‘Although our program wasn’t directly responsible for changing the law, it was ultimately the people of this nation who brought about the change. Their actions in supporting Mr. Bates against The Post Office demonstrated that our country has zero tolerance for deceit and intimidation.’

He stated: ‘Let this serve as a reminder to those who are meant to stand by us, that they should exercise their authority with caution, lest they misuse it.’

As I stand here with this prestigious award in hand, let me express that it’s an unparalleled honor to have been entrusted by the postal community to share their stories. This experience has undeniably been the crowning achievement of my professional journey.

ITV was later honored with a Special Award, bestowed upon them by Baroness Floella Benjamin, in recognition of their efforts in commissioning the series titled “Mr. Bates vs The Post Office.

Encouraging the Labour government led by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to expedite the distribution of promised compensations to ex-postal workers, ITV’s head Kevin Lygo stated: ‘Swiftly provide them with the payments they are entitled to.’

The evening kicked off as Jessica Gunning received the Best Actress award, following acclaim for her gripping performance as the unstable stalker Martha in Netflix’s smash hit drama, Baby Reindeer, directed by Richard Gatt.

After Danny Dyer accidentally used several profanities during his award acceptance speech for Best Male Performance in a Comedy, he compelled the BBC to make rapid revisions.

In a fitting moment, the 47-year-old actor, known for his colorful language, claimed his first BAFTA award for his portrayal of Lee in Mr. Bigstuff. Overflowing with enthusiasm, he delivered an exuberant speech filled with exclamations typical of him.

Initially exclaiming “Goodness gracious! I’m emotional,” the actor from EastEnders later posted a touching and amusing tribute to the writer of Mr. Bigstuff and his fellow cast member Ryan Sampson. This tribute, in turn, caused him to use colorful language again.

Danny mentioned: “However, I’d like to dedicate this to Ryan Sampson. One of the outstanding individuals from Rotherham. Not implying much about the town itself.

In my opinion, he’s one of the most versatile actors our country has ever nurtured. He never repeats his performances, a feat that I personally find remarkable.

He penned a special section just for me, and it’s touching my heart once more. You’ve truly won something for me, friend, and I’m deeply grateful; thank you from the bottom of my heart.

He concluded by speaking directly to his two daughters, Dani aged 28 and Sunnie at 18 who were present in the audience. Taking the moment before him, he swore one last time proudly, saying: “Ladies, Sunnie and Dani, I’ve accomplished it! I’ve truly done it!

Nevertheless, the BBC expressed disapproval when the celebrity violated the broadcasting restriction, prompting the host, Alan, to issue an apology for the inappropriate language used.

When the broadcast aired an hour later, the presenter edited Danny’s speech to remove any swear words.

One hour after it was aired, the broadcaster carefully omitted Danny’s curses from his speech during the broadcast.

Later on, during the presentation of the BAFTA Fellowship award to journalist Kirsty Wark, Alan unintentionally used an inappropriate phrase.

The well-known Scottish celebrity unintentionally made a regrettable mistake by announcing the award as the ‘impolite fellowship’. Upon noticing his slip-up, the embarrassed actor blurted out another expletive, saying in embarrassment: “What on earth happened to me!

The Fellowship represents the most prestigious honor given by BAFTA to an individual who has made extraordinary and exceptional contributions to cinema, video games, or television.

Kirsty was recognized for her steadfast commitment and exceptional impact in the field of news and current events broadcasting.

On that particular evening, Ruth Jones felt an extra sense of joy as she received the accolade for Best Female Performance in a Comedy, marking her last portrayal of the cherished character Nessa in the December ending of Gavin & Stacey.

Gratefully receiving the award from Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall, she expressed her surprise and gratitude towards the amazing cast.

I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the BBC. It’s an extraordinary organization that I feel privileged to have collaborated with on numerous occasions.

Addressing her writing companion, Ruth expressed gratitude by saying: ‘It’s Jim, my cherished, considerate, and gifted friend James Corden, that I owe the most heartfelt thanks. For the past 17 years, we have walked an extraordinary path together, and without his presence, Vanessa Shanessa Jenson would not be here.’

Indicating a possible future collaboration on a TV project with James, she expressed: “James, I really enjoy working with you in scriptwriting. Here’s to many more years of this partnership!

Despite facing a setback in the P&O Cruises Memorable Moment category, Chris McCausland’s comedy routine on Strictly Come Dancing and his partner Dianne Buswell’s waltz dance triumphed over Smithy’s wedding ceremony to claim the award.

On this special evening, Marisa Abela, a shining British talent, was honored with the prestigious Leading Actress award. This recognition came as a result of her captivating performance in the BBC’s popular series, Industry.

Accepting her accolade, a visibly emotional actress remarked: “For nearly six years, I’ve been part of Industry. It’s hard to believe that not only did production companies Bad Wolf and HBO give us the chance to continue our story beyond season one, but they found it remarkable to do so.

In addition, she mentioned that she secured a part in the BBC series focusing on a group of young finance graduates during her initial year at drama school. She further expressed that the character of Yasmin significantly impacted her life, as this role led to her portraying the late Amy Winehouse in the movie titled Back To Black.

In the Leading Actor category, I was rooting for none other than the magnificent David Tennant from Rivals, who had been a strong contender for the award. However, it seems fate had other plans as Lennie James, with his captivating performance in BBC’s Mr Loverman, snatched the victory away from him. What a nail-biting finish!

A shocked Lennie admitted he hadn’t prepared a speech, as he ‘didn’t think this was coming my way’.

The evening saw Mr Loverman receiving his second accolade, while earlier in the night, Ariyon Bakare, a fellow actor in Lennie’s production, was awarded the prize for Best Supporting Actor. His heartfelt speech left many in the audience in tears.

The amusing talk show “Would I Lie To You,” aired by BBC, received the recognition for the best Entertainment Programme. The charismatic hosts, Lee Mack, Rob Brydon, and David Mitchell, kept viewers in stitches with their customary quick-witted dialogue.

David stated: ‘Eight times we’ve been nominated, but this is our first victory. The category we were up for was discontinued last year, and we speculated that perhaps next year we would be recognized in the news or a short-form drama related to something Prince Andrew might have done.’

Additionally, Robert Rinder and Rylan Clark were counted as victors, as their BBC program “Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour” received the honor for Best Factual Entertainment Show.

In another competition, Joe Lycett surpassed Stacey Solomon, Romesh Ranganathan, Claudia Winkleman, Graham Norton, Ant McPartlin, and Declan Donnelly to win the Entertainment Performance award for his Channel 4 show titled Late Night Lycett.

33 years after its debut, Glastonbury Festival finally earned its first Television BAFTA for BBC’s extensive live broadcasting of the event held at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

EastEnders joined the trend by winning the Best Soap award, marking a significant milestone of its 40-year run on BBC.

The large broadcasting company received another award due to BBC Breakfast, as the morning program won its very first Television British Academy Award (BAFTA) for their Post Office Special.

The lavish event featured electrifying music performances by popular artists like Jessie J and Tom Grennan, with this being Jessie’s first televised performance in a span of six years.

Esteemed violinist Esther Abrami, known for her social media fame, played “Apple Tree” during the In Memoriam tribute honoring the television personalities who have recently passed away this year.
