Billie Faiers is ‘utterly heartbroken’ as she shares sweet tribute to father-in-law Dave after his ‘sudden’ death at the age of 77

Billie Faiers expressed her deep sadness on Instagram Tuesday, sharing a touching message about her father-in-law, Dave, who died at 77.

The TV star, married to Greg Shephard since 2019, shared that her life is forever changed by the unexpected loss of Dave.

Billie posted adorable photos of her father-in-law enjoying time with her, her husband Greg, and their kids: Nelly (11), Arthur (8), and Margot (3).

She wrote: ‘To my wonderful father in law Dave.

We are all deeply saddened by the sudden loss. It’s hard to believe he’s gone, and we’ll cherish the wonderful memories we shared. I feel so fortunate to have known such a remarkable man – someone we all admired and respected.

I always told you that you were the best, and I truly meant it. You were the most wonderful father-in-law, dad, and grandfather we could have ever asked for.

I’ll truly miss all the joyful moments we shared – our laughter, dancing, and late-night talks. I loved making you drinks, playing games with you, and simply being around your kind, happy, and fun personality. I adored you.

‘Life will never feel the same again, I miss you unconditionally. I love you with all my heart’.

Billie’s sister Sam quickly commented: ‘We will miss you Dave❤️ such a wonderful man x’

Last week, Greg also posted a heartfelt message about his father, saying he felt his dad had much more life to live.

Greg shared some very sad news: his father, Dave, unexpectedly passed away last week. He said he was devastated by the loss.

‘He was 77, but still had so much more to give, and that’s what makes this so hard.

I honestly can’t remember a time when you weren’t my dad. From the moment I was four years old, you stepped in and raised me as your own, and it meant the world. Watching you be a father taught me everything I know – you made it look so effortless! You were always there, through thick and thin, never missing a single birthday, celebration, or important moment in my life. You always made time for me, my sisters, and all the grandkids, and I’ll always cherish that.

I hope to grow up to be just like you, Dad – someone who always finds joy, loves to dance, appreciates everything, and is always there for the family.

We all loved having you around, and our parties at the bar just won’t be the same without you. All my friends feel the same way.

I’ll do my best to make you proud, and I’ll learn to cherish the 36 years we had together, filled with love and happy memories.

‘Until we meet again, our kid… I love you more than you’ll ever know.’

Dave was a frequent guest on Billie and Greg Shepherd’s show, The Family Diaries, and many viewers of the ITVBe series fondly remembered him.

I was just watching an old episode of Family Diaries featuring Margot’s birth. Your dad and Chatty came to visit, and your dad was singing ‘Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head’ to her. I’m so sorry for your loss, Greg.

Billie recently revealed she has Lyme disease, explaining that the illness had been severe enough to keep her in bed.

Let me tell you, I went through a really difficult time recently. I was dealing with a health condition that caused awful pain and left me completely exhausted. It got to the point where even the simplest things were a struggle, and I really had to lean on my husband, Greg, for help with everyday tasks. It was a tough period, but I’m sharing my story in hopes it helps others know they’re not alone.

She told The Mirror that some mornings were so difficult she could barely get out of bed, sometimes having to crawl to the bathroom. She was often in terrible pain, leaving her hysterical and crying. She even needed help from Greg to sit on the toilet, which was a frightening experience.

Billie shared that it took doctors weeks to figure out what was making her sick, and during that time she was in terrible pain because her own immune system was attacking her body.

The mother of two explained that she underwent numerous blood tests, but doctors couldn’t diagnose her condition. One doctor even said it was the most unusual case she’d ever encountered, which was incredibly frustrating. It took about two months to finally discover she had Lyme disease.

Lyme disease is an infection caused by bacteria carried in ticks. It often starts with symptoms similar to the flu, like tiredness, headaches, achy joints, and fever, and these can usually last a few weeks. However, some people experience symptoms for much longer – even years – and doctors aren’t yet sure why.

The reality TV personality said doctors think she probably got a tick bite up to three years ago, but the infection it caused didn’t show up until recently.

Even though doctors gave Billie antibiotics and steroids, she said the medication didn’t help and actually made her feel worse.

I was really struggling with my health for a while there. Honestly, things didn’t start improving until my sister, Sam, suggested I see a holistic doctor. Once I started taking natural medicines, I finally began to feel a difference and slowly started getting better.
