Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Joni Mitchell, Red Hot Chili Peppers to headline FireAid benefit concert
As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that on January 30th, the FireAid benefit concert will be taking place, all proceeds going towards fire relief efforts here in Los Angeles. The stellar lineup was unveiled yesterday!
Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, Lady Gaga, Joni Mitchell, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are some of the main performers scheduled.
Among the headlining acts are Earth, Wind & Fire, Gracie Abrams, Green Day, Gwen Stefani, Jelly Roll, Katy Perry, Lil Baby, Pink, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rod Stewart, Sting, Stephen Stills, Stevie Nicks, Tate McRae, and a joint performance by Dave Matthews and John Mayer (a first for them). Further artists and detailed lineups for each venue will be revealed shortly.
Music
Sadly, it was a tragic twist of fate that the Palisades and Eaton fires destroyed two distinctive L.A. neighborhoods deeply rooted in the city’s music scene.
This major event – a collaboration between Live Nation, AEG, the Clippers, and the Azoff Company – is set to occur at both the Intuit Dome and the nearby Kia Forum. It will also be available for live viewing in select AMC Theatres and on various streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Apple TV, Max, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Spotify, among others.
Donations given to FireAid will be managed and dispersed by the Annenberg Foundation, earmarked for both emergency aid projects and future fire safety programs.
Over the past week, a series of blazes such as the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire have wreaked havoc on Los Angeles, claiming at least 25 lives, burning tens of thousands of buildings, displacing thousands more, and causing damages estimated in billions. Areas like Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Altadena were among those affected by these destructive fires.
Tickets for both concerts will go on sale at noon Wednesday, Jan. 22 through Ticketmaster.
