Billie Eilish fans hope she SKIPS the 2024 MTV VMAs after nominations controversy: ‘She literally got snubbed’

Having attended numerous events myself and witnessed firsthand the excitement and anticipation that surrounds these occasions, it’s clear that fans crave recognition for their favorite stars.

Billie Eilish’s supporters felt heartbroken when they discovered she had been nominated for just four awards at the 2024 MTV VMAs, prompting them to urge her to not attend the ceremony on Wednesday.

22-year-old pop sensation, who unveiled her long-awaited third studio album titled “Hit Me Hard and Soft” in May, received remarkable feedback about the record. The album debuted at the second spot on the Billboard 200 chart, and all ten tracks made it to the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Global successes such as Chihiro, Bird’s of a Feather, and L’Amour De Ma Vie had built up anticipation for Eilish to receive more nominations, similar to her multiple wins at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

The resident of California is nominated as a contender for Video of the Year, and also for Video for Good, both for the video titled “What Was I Made For?

Meanwhile, chart rival Taylor Swift has been nominated for a staggering 12 awards.  

Fans, instead, used X (previously known as Twitter), to vocalize their dissatisfaction about Billie being overlooked in the nominations.

Instead of telling the pop sensation to “not show up” as a response to the VMAs, many fans who wanted to see the pop star at the award show are expressing their desire for her to attend, not to retaliate against the VMAs.

One backer expressed, ‘I’m wishing that Billie Eilish truly maintains her pettiness and skips the VMA’s.’

‘So y’all are saying Billie will not attend the VMA’s?’ one questioned.

Another user said, ‘Billie please don’t go to the VMA’s tonight.’

Some supporters openly stated that the actress had been unfairly overlooked, with one commenting, “Indeed, she was significantly undervalued in this instance.

One user shared a photo of Billie looking teary-eyed, writing, ‘I just know Billie wont be at the VMA’s.’

On September 11, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Time (ET)/Pacific Time (PT), the grand night of music begins! Megan Thee Stallion will be our host for this exciting event taking place at the UBS Arena in Long Island.

Notable artists scheduled to perform on Wednesday night are: Sabrina Carpenter, Katy Perry, Camila Cabello, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Benson Boone, Halsey, LISA (from Blackpink), Lenny Kravitz, Anitta, Karol G, LL Cool J, and Shawn Mendes.

Katy Perry will be crowned as 2024’s Video Vanguard Award recipient.  

By Wednesday morning, it hasn’t been verified yet that the singer from “You Should See Me in a Crown” will be attending.

To this date Eilish is one of the most decorated female singer in music history. 

She boasts an impressive collection of awards, including nine Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, twenty records in the Guinness World Records, six MTV Video Music Awards, three Brit Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and two Academy Awards.

By August 2024, this 22-year-old has secured the top spot as the most listened-to artist on Spotify, with an astounding nearly 106 billion music streams each month.
