Billie Eilish enforces a completely vegan food policy at her London concerts – with ‘woke decision’ leaving attendees ‘less than impressed’

At Billie Eilish’s concert held at the famous O2 Arena in London, she implemented a strict vegan food policy for the very first time, resulting in the venue hosting its inaugural completely plant-based event.

The singer, 23, is performing at the venue for six nights during her Hit Me Hard And Soft Tour.   

For the evening, every food vendor must provide only plant-based options, eliminating any animal products within the arena.

The menu included a peri-peri haloumi wrap, a corn naan, chipotle tacos, pizzas, and pancakes. 

Some of Billie’s vegan followers commended her choice, but others felt let down by the limited vegan meal choices after shelling out over £70 for their concert tickets.

One participant shared with TopMob their feedback: ‘The attendees found the vegan alternatives unsatisfactory – a combination of pizzas, cauliflower florets, and loaded French fries – prompting several to inquire, “Were they out of meat or something?”‘

As a devoted admirer, I’ve found myself sharing an experience where, upon hearing that the instruction originated from Billie, there was a general response that leaned towards exasperated sighs and rolled eyes.

‘The carefully selected drink options were generally preferred, yet it’s likely that many enthusiasts opted for getting a delivery instead after returning home.’

At the beginning of the event, Billie shared a brief documentary that discussed veganism, environmental concerns, and their eco-friendly actions during the tour.

On tour, everyone in the crew adopts a diet consisting solely of plant-based meals, and their merchandise is crafted employing eco-friendly methods. Moreover, they set up an Eco Village within the O2 arena to educate people about global warming and climate change.

As a lifestyle expert, I too follow in the footsteps of music legends like Paul McCartney, who boldly turns down performances at establishments lacking vegetarian options. It’s all about making conscious choices that reflect my values and contribute to a more sustainable world.

Simultaneously, Moby – a lifelong vegetarian advocate – organizes fully plant-based gatherings and operates vegan eateries, aiming to advance this cause further.

Although some fans weren’t completely satisfied with the food options, Billie’s captivating performance more than compensated. With her powerful vocals, she sang fan favorites like Ocean Eyes, No Time To Die, and What Was I Made For.

Billie grew up as a vegetarian and is a persistent supporter of animal rights and veganism, often expressing her views on the subject of animals.

Although she allows exceptions for wearing leather shoes, consuming honey, and horseback riding, she primarily adopts a vegan way of life in other aspects.

Her name was given in honor of her paternal grandpa, Bill Baird, who enjoyed hunting and fishing; however, her mother disagreed with these activities and chose to abstain from consuming meat during the 1970s.

Her mother, Maggie Baird, expressed that making the decision felt like a burden lifted: “It wasn’t something I struggled with or wavered on.

Initially, the family persisted with consuming animal-derived foods, but later on, Maggie switched to veganism after gaining a better understanding of the industry’s practices.

She expressed that upon witnessing the harshness, she felt compelled to act. Once one truly educates oneself on the subject, it becomes difficult to turn a blind eye.

What was truly astounding was that each of us gained unique health advantages. It’s something you engage in for philosophical reasons, only to be surprised with an exclamation of ‘wow.’… This aspect turned out to be a significant advantage.

Spectators are amazed upon learning that Billie shares well-known parents, prompting questions as to whether she could be classified as a ‘favored offspring’ in the entertainment industry.

66-year-old Maggie boasts a versatile acting career that spans several decades. She’s appeared in the 1989 thriller “An Innocent Man,” as well as shows like “The X Files,” “Six Feet Under,” and “Bones.

At the same time, Billie’s dad, Patrick O’Connell, is well-known in his field too, as he was featured in the 2008 Iron Man film.

He’s also appeared in The West Wing, Life Inside Out, Baskets and Hunter.
