Fans were surprised during Alan Cumming’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, and it wasn’t just because of the actor! The event had people doing a double-take.

Sixty-year-old Scottish actor and award-winner (with five Emmys, two Tonys, and a BAFTA) was surprised by a special guest: Monica Lewinsky, 52, who is well-known for her past relationship with President Bill Clinton. The two appeared to be close friends.

Cumming looked fantastic in a vibrant turquoise suit and shorts, but Lewinsky almost outshone him in a striking red pantsuit, showing she still has a knack for making a statement.

They shared a tender kiss while on stage, and Lewinsky gave a touching speech celebrating Cumming, proving they’ve become genuine friends.

Joining the celebration was Brian Cox, 79, known for his role in Succession. He proudly represented Scotland with a speech, and the three actors—Cumming, Sheen, and Cox—then posed for pictures in front of Cumming’s newly unveiled star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

To finish off the exciting event, Cumming playfully knelt before the celebrity, creating a funny, spontaneous photo with Lewinsky and Cox watching.

Cumming and Lewinsky share a very close friendship, perhaps closer than many people know, even though he’s mentioned it previously.

Back in 2016 on Watch What Happens Live, he revealed just how close they really are. 

He described her as one of the kindest, most loyal, and loving people he’s ever met, also noting her funny and tender nature. He added that he considers her a close friend.

‘Yeah. And she’s been at my wedding. She knows my family.’

Cumming shared with Andy Cohen that he first met Lewinsky around 16 years ago at a Marie Claire event, and they’ve been friends ever since.

While promoting his book, ‘Not My Father’s Son,’ he enthusiastically praised her personality to the New York Daily News, describing it as ‘lovely’.

‘She’s absolutely one of the most loving, fun, clever, tender people,’ he said. 

Despite facing a lot of negativity and hurtful criticism when she was young, she’s remained a wonderful person, which really shows her strength of character.

According to Martinez, Alan Cumming is a true original – a pioneer, incredibly versatile, and someone who constantly reinvents himself. He’s more than just one thing; he defies easy categorization.
