Previously, Augustine played a recurring character in The Rookie series. However, for its eighth season, he has been upgraded to a regular cast member in full capacity. Augustine’s character, Miles Penn, is a two-year police force veteran from Texas who joins the LAPD as a rookie. He first appeared as Penn in Season 7’s episode titled “The Shot,” which also introduced Patrick Keleher’s character, Seth Ridley.
Produced by Alexi Hawley, The Rookie is a TV series that revolves around John Nolan, a 45-year-old newcomer to the LAPD who finds himself joining the force following an unexpected encounter with a daytime bank robbery. Alongside Richard T. Jones, Alyssa Diaz, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Mekia Cox, and Shawn Ashmore, this series has welcomed numerous guest stars since it debuted in 2018. As we near the seventh season finale on May 13, The Rookie continues to captivate audiences.
Expect a Powerful Season 7 Finale
In a recent conversation about the latest season of the popular police drama, Ashmore hinted at what viewers can anticipate in the Season 7 finale. “I had some fantastic collaborations with one of our recurring actors who is incredibly powerful, but I don’t want to reveal it,” Ashmore shared. “However, it’s a compelling storyline that I found really engaging. So, I won’t spoil too much, but there are some exciting developments on the horizon. Plus, the ending of the season is quite thrilling – filming that final scene felt electrifying, and there’s plenty to look forward to.
Regarding the matter, Alex Hawley hinted that one beloved guest star is set to reappear on the show. When queried about the episode count for Season 8, Hawley was evasive but did mention that comedian Flula Borg’s character “Skip Tracer Randy” might return as early as Episode 17, in a lively plotline. This hint also implies that Season 8 could be similar in length to Season 7, which consisted of 18 episodes overall.
