As a concerned citizen who values safety and justice for all, I fully understand Bec Judd’s stance on incarcerating violent reoffenders. Her personal experiences with crime in her own community of Brighton, Melbourne, make her views more than just rhetoric; they come from a place of lived reality. It’s unfortunate that some people seem to criticize her for expressing these concerns, perhaps because of her luxurious lifestyle. But let’s not forget, the fear and trauma of crime transcend social status and economic background.

Rebecca Judd has revealed how Melbourne socialites rate an evening out on the town.

On the weekend, the businesswoman and influencer, aged 41, went to Emma Lowe’s extravagant 40th birthday party held at Yugen Dining in South Yarra on Saturday evening. Earlier that day, she had participated in Lorinska Merrington’s ski lodge celebration for her 40th birthday.

In her Sunday morning photo, she wrote, ‘If you discover eyelashes from last night in an empty coffee cup, it’s a sign you had a fantastic time.’

The candid photo shared to her Instagram Stories showed her set ultra-long fake lashes floating in cappuccino residue at the bottom of a glass.

Living in the upscale neighborhood of Brighton alongside her spouse, renowned AFL player Chris Judd, Becca participated in not just one but two forty-year-old friend’s birthday celebrations over the weekend. Consequently, it’s quite clear why she was under the weather by Sunday morning.

At Emma’s party, the mother of four chose to wear a sparkling maxi dress worth $299 from Australian boutique Meshki, which featured no straps.

In the photo, Bec struck a pose wearing the featured outfit alongside friends Michelle Greene and fashion designer Effie Kats.

“Swift wardrobe switch for wrapping up a night filled with celebration,” Michelle, the founder of JAGGAD activewear, captioned a stylish photo before the party, shared on her Instagram Stories.

After Bec went all out with her wardrobe for TV personality Lorinska Merrington’s ski chalet party on Saturday, she switched to a new outfit later in the day.

40-year-old reality star from “The Yummy Mummies,” known for her love of delicious food, organized a social gathering inspired by an Après-ski event, modeled after the popular Val d’Isère ski resort in the French Alps, in South Yarra.

Becca and her sibling, Kate Twigley, donned stylish attire designed to captivate, sporting form-fitting bodysuits accompanied by boots that reached up to their thighs, lined with fluffy fur – a trend popularized by actress Julia Fox during Paris Fashion Week as ‘Monster Legs’. They opted for contrasting vibrant shades of electric blue and delicate baby pink.

The Melbourne businesswoman ended her week on a lighter note, after using her large social media platform to hit back at a follower her accused her of  ‘wanting children in jail’.

Bec has been leading a lone crusade against juvenile delinquency in her prosperous Melbourne neighborhood by using social media to criticize the Victorian administration.

Last week, an Instagram Story post by the ex-AFL WAG and influencer expressed outrage over a 16-year-old boy who was granted bail after reportedly stealing a Mercedes from a woman with cerebral palsy, then crashing into a Volvo driven by a mother collecting her children from school.

Among the designer’s 756,000 supporters, at least one expressed disagreement with her views, privately messaging her a question along the lines of: “Is it acceptable for you to support confining children in detention centers?”

In response to sharing the exchange on her Story, Bec communicated: “Actually, that’s not my approach; I believe in proactive measures such as prevention programs or social support structures for these children.”

She emphasized, “I have no issues at all with imprisoning repeat offenders who have committed violent crimes, even if they’ve previously been granted second chances.”

‘It’s clear you understand the individuals who break into homes, assault people, steal vehicles, and then run over and kill innocent bystanders with those cars. To ensure our community remains secure, we should focus on locking up a specific group of repeat offenders who are primarily responsible for causing chaos. I am wholeheartedly in favor of this action to safeguard Victorians. I trust my statement is clear.’

Previously, Judd shared a news article about an incident that took place in the Brighton district of Melbourne’s Bayside area on her Instagram stories.

In my latest post, I want to set the record straight. If we had more effective preventive measures in place, we could steer clear of many issues we’re currently grappling with today.

Although they require time, they won’t immediately help the numerous families whose homes are being invaded today, tonight, and in the future. It’s crucial that we devise both immediate and long-term strategies to address this crisis.

Becca has garnered both applause for leveraging her platform to highlight the crime problem in Melbourne, and criticism for appearing to complain despite her affluent lifestyle.

In May 2022, she expressed concerns about her safety in her expensive mansion, alleging that the Victorian government appeared unconcerned or inactive regarding violent crimes occurring in the Bayside area.

A mother of four shared that she knew two women who had recently experienced break-ins at their homes in Brighton within a short timeframe. However, then-premier Daniel Andrews disputed her claims, stating that the data would paint a different picture and expressing no interest in engaging in an argument with Ms Judd.

In addition, Andrews mentioned that it appears there might be over 70 extra police officers patrolling the Bayside region. Moreover, he stated that the latest crime statistics published by an impartial organization do not corroborate such broad conclusions regarding crime trends.

In 2023, Bayside saw a total of 4385 criminal incidents, which is a 16.7% jump compared to the 3756 incidents reported in 2022. This information comes from the most recent data provided by the Victorian Crime Statistics Agency.

The top suburbs targeted in Bayside were Brighton, Brighton East and Hampton.

In June, Judd received praise from Liberal MPs following his criticism of Melbourne as “awake yet financially strained and unsafe” due to the authorities’ inability to address crime effectively.

Brad Rowswell, the Sandringham MP and Victorian shadow treasurer, stated that it was inappropriate to undermine or show disrespect towards Bec’s opinions just because she leads an affluent life.

He stated, “She’s simply stating things as they truly are. It’s like she’s voicing the thoughts that many of us in our community harbor.”

‘What she is doing is standing up for innocent victims in her community and the government should be listening to her.’

Brighton MP James Newbury concurred that she is a significant figure, and it’s crucial for everyone within the community to feel empowered to express their views.
