Big Brother’s Zelah is accidentally ‘outed’ as transgender in front of all the housemates – after he narrowly avoided eviction

On Monday night’s episode of Big Brother, Zelah Glasson was unintentionally revealed as transgender to the other housemates, shortly after surviving a close call with eviction.

Zelah, age 25, is a personal trainer who began her transition two years ago. She has only shared this with a small circle of people within her household.

During the weekly eviction reveal with all the housemates, Jenny accidentally let slip that he was transgender.

On Friday, Zelah and Gani Khan were up for eviction. Before the results were announced, Zelah spoke to the other housemates.

He expressed having a truly wonderful time and jokingly asked that if he left, people wouldn’t forget about him after about a week.

Jenny then shouted out: ‘We won’t. If you went I’d say, ‘where’s the transgender’.’

Zelah seemed shocked when Caroline reacted, asking, “Did she really just say that?” Another housemate then questioned if someone was transgender.

Caroline then sternly told Jenny: ‘Oh for God’s sake, they didn’t know. We’ll talk about it after.’

Later, Jenny – who hadn’t realised he hadn’t told everyone – was seen sincerely apologising.

She apologized to Zelah, saying she was truly sorry. She explained that she hadn’t realized others were unaware and that her previous comment wasn’t meant to be hurtful or malicious.

Zelah then sweetly said: ‘OK. I don’t think it came from a malicious place.’

Gani was evicted on Friday night.

The first eviction on Big Brother was thrown into chaos when Storm Amy caused ITV to cancel the live broadcast.

Due to the severe weather across the UK, the contestant wasn’t allowed to leave through the main doors and was quietly escorted out instead.

The show’s producers unexpectedly had to cancel the live broadcast only a few hours before it was scheduled to begin.

Big Brother: Late & Live revealed which housemate was leaving the show, with AJ Odudu and Will Best presenting the news from the studio instead of outside.

People who were anticipating the typical eviction night excitement likely received prior notice about the altered plans.

A Big Brother representative explained to The Daily Mail that tonight’s live eviction show will be filmed in the studio instead of outside, due to the poor weather and as a safety precaution.

They added: ‘The health and safety of everyone remains our highest priority.’

This was the first time since the ITV2 reboot that a live eviction had been pulled.

Big Brother continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
