Mickey Rourke was removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house last Saturday due to inappropriate conduct toward Chris Hughes, which was the final straw regarding controversial incidents.

However, it’s important to note that the celebrity, who infamously hurled a homophobic slur at Jojo Siwa and left Ella Rae Wise and Patsy Palmer in tears due to his rude comments, was not the first contestant to be eliminated from the show known for its volatile nature.

Since its debut in 2000 on Channel 4, Big Brother has welcomed a diverse array of contestants, some of whom, like the cunning Nick Bateman, found themselves disqualified during the initial season for tampering with the eviction procedure.

After a span of four years, Emma Greenwood was instructed to orchestrate the notorious Fight Night involving Michelle Bass.

In the 2017 celebrity edition, actor Christopher Biggins was removed following a public outcry over his inappropriate remarks towards bisexual individuals.

But who else has been asked to leave the famous house over the years? 

Nick Bateman, series 1 (2000)

In an unexpected turn of events, the infamous antagonist from the original reality show, known as ‘Nasty’ Nick, was not invited to a celebration hosted by George Michael, following his comments equating homosexual acts with pedophilia.

The stockbroker, who was 32 at the time, wasn’t expelled from the house due to his views, but instead because of his cunning manipulation of the voting system in a Machiavellian manner.

The stockbroker, aged 32, didn’t get kicked out of the house because of his opinions, but rather because he tricked the voting process in a way that could be described as Machiavellian.

As a committed participant, I secretly brought in a pen and some paper during our competition, and I discretely passed notes to my peers, urging them to cast their votes in a specific manner prior to each elimination round.

As an ardent supporter, I can’t help but share my excitement about the moment when The Sun’s ‘Kick Nick Out’ crusade reached its peak. They even dared to toss flyers into his camp, aiming to enlighten his fellow housemates about the deception. Eventually, after 34 thrilling days, the house management made the decision to bid adieu to our beloved contestant, Nick.

He recently stated to The Telegraph, “It appears excessive now. Individuals have performed actions even more severe since my time, yet they haven’t faced the same degree of skepticism.

However, it sparked the audience’s curiosity. They discovered that observing others could indeed be captivating.

Emma Greenwood, series 5 (2004)

In the fifth season of the popular series, it was Emma who made her appearance; this season is renowned for its unruly cast members and continuous turmoil.

Most notably, it became infamous due to the distressing incident that took place during Fight Night – a chaotic brawl that involved many residents and was initiated by Emma.

She was swiftly escorted out by security due to her aggressive actions, and subsequently confined to a solitary room adjacent, a small apartment-like space.

When Emma was ultimately eliminated from the program, she was the very first contestant to be dismissed for violating the physical violence rule. However, she continued to be recognized by “Big Brother” enthusiasts as they had seen her critically evaluate the show on Richard & Judy’s broadcast.

Kitten Pinder, series 5 (2004)

During that tense period of the series, Kitten was eliminated during the initial week.

It can be challenging to tackle someone as notorious for causing trouble, but interestingly, she opted out of participating in Big Brother’s challenges. As a result, her fellow contestants often found themselves at the mini-bar instead.

Following three official warnings, she was unexpectedly dismissed during an elimination round, but instead of exiting peacefully, she stood her ground, prompting others to support her until she was forcibly removed from the premises.

A kitten named Kathryn, also known as this, made an appearance at Brighton Magistrates Court for neglecting to settle multiple parking fines, according to The Sun, shortly following another event where an axe was involved.

And her father later told The Independent that Big Brother should be ‘banned’. 

Dawn Blake, series 7 (2006)

It’s said that Dawn reportedly got messages indicating she was struggling, which represents a significant violation of the rules on Big Brother.

She got found out for revealing to other residents that she hadn’t been washing due to the producers not giving her luggage upon arrival at the premises.

Her body odor prompted other competitors to make derogatory comments, but it was eventually her communication with loved ones that led to her dismissal by the management.

After being evicted, she began a fasting protest with the aim of compelling Big Brother to release uncensored video recordings. She asserted that she was coerced into staying within the house contrary to her own wishes.

Additionally, Dawn asserted that the program was manipulated to portray her unfairly and embarrassingly. However, both Channel 4 and Ofcom dismissed these allegations.

Emily Parr, series 8 (2007)

At the age of 19, Emily found herself being evicted from the renowned house, due to her offensive use of a racial slur directed at Charley Uchea, just a few hours after moving in.

After her fellow competitor remarked that she appeared pregnant, Emily responded by saying, “Are you trying to deliver it, you [racial or ethnic slur]?” (Note: I’ve replaced the racial slur with “[racial or ethnic slur]” since it is offensive and not suitable for general use.)

“Are you trying to give birth to it, [racial or ethnic slur]?” This version maintains the original meaning while using less offensive language.

The ejected guest later admitted she should have been ‘more careful with her words’.

Many viewers expressed dissatisfaction about the event, criticizing Channel 4 for broadcasting the offensive remark, while others believed that Emily was unfairly dismissed.

Dennis McHugh, series 9 (2008)

On the 23rd day of season nine, Dennis was quickly ejected following an intense dispute where he spat at fellow housemate Mohamed Mohamed’s face, causing him to cry.

The conflict began when two competitors had a disagreement about a painting, causing Dennis to repeatedly exclaim “I don’t agree with you!” or “I strongly disagree!” towards Mohamed.

Following his forced departure, Dennis made a hasty retreat to his residence in Edinburgh, where he was subsequently acquitted of the accusation of common assault by the Hertfordshire Police.

Later on, I confided in The Mirror, expressing my profound shame over my actions and my deep regret. I offer my sincerest apologies for the unfortunate incident that transpired.

Daley Ojuederie, series 14 (2013)

In simple terms, Jeremy, known for his role in Baywatch and as a singer, was swiftly evicted from the house following allegations of inappropriately touching Chloe Goodman.

At age 34, the actor drank a combination of rum and vodka, resulting in intoxication, followed by vomiting in the bathroom.

Thirty-four-year-old actor consumed both rum and vodka, leading to drunkenness and subsequent vomiting in the restroom.

As model Chloe consoled him, Jeremy unfastened the robe of his fellow competitor.

His housemate said: ‘He went to my dressing gown top and put my boob out.’

In simpler terms, Jeremy defended his actions, which led to his expulsion, by stating that they stemmed from a sense of “pure inquisitiveness” or “simple curiosity”.

He later added: ‘I made a mistake and now I’m in boiling water for it.’

Ken Morley, Celebrity series 15 (2014)

On Coronation Street, the long-standing character Ken faced over 200 complaints from Ofcom and was subsequently let go, following his repeated usage of a racially charged term, “the n-word.

Ken stated to Loose Women that he had “never harbored racist sentiments,” but offered an apology for the comments he made during private conversations with singers Alexander O’Neal and Keith Chegwin.

The actor received a formal reprimand from the producers following his inappropriate remarks about his fellow female housemates, which had also attracted negative feedback.

He was then kicked out of the house after his behaviour showed no signs of changing.

Tila Tequila, Celebrity  series 16 (2015)

American model Tila was asked to leave the residence following allegations that she shared questionable posts about Nazi ideology on social networking platforms.

It caused concern when people discovered that Tila posted a photo of herself donning a Nazi armband and cap, posing in front of Auschwitz, back in 2013.

She labeled Adolf Hitler as a gifted artist, who she believed was ahead of his contemporary era, and asserted that he might have been a reincarnation of some past dictator.

Channel 5 bosses claimed they had no idea she held such views before she came on the show.

Aaron Frew, series 17 (2015)

Model Aaron found himself in a difficult situation when he was accused of exhibiting inappropriate behavior towards his housemate, Joel Williams, even after being asked to cease.

He was also said to have been making unwanted sexually-charged advances at his fellow contestant.

In a specific episode, the 24-year-old was visibly emotional when Big Brother announced unexpectedly that his two-week stay in the show would conclude prematurely.

As I found myself face-to-face with Big Brother, I could sense the impending doom. My voice trembled, my eyes welled up, and I uttered, “I’m so sorry. Oh my goodness, I never intended to go that far.” The reality of it all was hitting me hard.

I deeply regret what happened and express my sincerest apologies to you, Mom, and my friends. Words fail me as I try to express my emotions, but know that I am beyond devastated by the turn of events in my journey. This experience has been incredibly meaningful to me, and I’m finding it extremely difficult to cope with its unexpected conclusion.

Andrew Tate, series 18 (2017)

In more straightforward terms: Famous social media figure, Andrew, known for past accusations of sexual trafficking, was dismissed following the publication by The Sun of a video showing him striking a woman with a belt. He stated that the act was consensual.

The former kickboxing champion initially claimed the video had been edited to cut out laughter.

He added that he and the girl were ‘friends’ and that he had ‘never hurt a girl in his life’.

Throughout the course of events, additional contentious social media remarks attributed to Andrew surfaced, yet Channel 5 maintained that these had no bearing on their decision-making process.

Emma Jensen, series 18 (2017)

Pop singer Emma faced the chop after repeatedly trying to break out of the house.

On Channel 5’s broadcast, a woman with dark hair was captured storming a door violently during a heated argument with Jackson Blyton, following their disagreement about a contentious shopping assignment.

Before stepping foot into the house, Emma was thoroughly briefed on the BB rules. However, she has once more disregarded these rules and escaped from the house yet again. Given her repeated failure to abide by the house’s regulations, it appears that she no longer qualifies as a resident in the house, as Big Brother informed her.

With a tremble in her voice, the deeply moved celebrity expressed her gratitude: ‘I appreciate being part of your household. This journey has transformed my life, and I’m truly thankful for it.’

Pop star Emma Jensen encountered trouble when she consistently attempted escape from her home, as demonstrated on Channel 5’s program, where the brown-haired artist was shown forcefully breaking a door open.

67-year-old Star received three warnings from Big Brother regarding his remarks, yet he persisted in his stance that AIDS is a ‘disease of those who engage in homosexual activity.’

After his removal from the house, Christopher said he was ‘very sorry and very sad’.

Mickey Rourke, Celebrity series 24 

This week, Mickey was evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house following an argument with Chris Hughes from Love Island. During a challenge, Chris reportedly shot Mickey a disapproving glance.

Initially, the actor and ex-boxer, aged 72, found it challenging to handle due to his behavior; specifically, he made uncomfortable advances towards host AJ Odudu by gazing improperly at her upon entering the house.

The situation grew tense as Mickey began making disrespectful remarks about JoJo Siwa, who is 21 years old, as well as Donna Preston, Ella Rae Wise, and Patsy Palmer, all of whom he spoke rudely to in subsequent interactions.

Eventually, he was forced to depart because of his menacing and hostile actions aimed at Chris. This incident was labeled as the “last straw” by the producers.

The intense reaction occurred later, following Chris’s subtle glare during the activity where they were all dressed as pirates, causing tension among the housemates.
