Big Brother winner Reggie Bird unveils shock injury from NYE party: ‘Was wondering why I’m sore’
Reggie Bird sustained a nasty injury while celebrating the New Year with friends.
50-year-old celebrity from “Big Brother” clearly had plans for an exciting evening, sharing her enthusiasm on Instagram prior to ringing in the New Year.
In the photo, Reggie proudly held up a bottle of Passion Pop, grinning widely at the camera.
Reggie, who is affected by the uncommon progressive eye condition known as retinitis pigmentosa, was also adorning a badge from Vision Australia that said: ‘Not Intoxicated, Vision Impaired.’
However, it seems that Reggie may have overindulged in the unique Aussie sparkling wine.
Taking to the social media platform again on Friday, Reggie shared the aftermath of her wild night.
The image displayed Reggie lifting her short’s hem, exposing a scattered pattern of bruises on her thigh.
The dark purple marks looked quite painful and covered a large area on her upper thigh.
A second photo showed a close-up of Reggie’s giggle-worthy Vision Australia badge.
Reggie joked, “I can’t help but wonder why I’m aching. It seems I must have worn the incorrect tag,” and then admitted, “I tripped at the party.
Reggie’s friends and followers were quick to comment on her New Year’s malady.
One supporter remarked, “Oops Reggie, it looks like that fizzy drink gave you quite a wallop! I hope you’re feeling a bit more comfortable today, despite the bruising.” Another fan added humorously, “Well, that’s what happens when you indulge in carbonated beverages!
A bystander spotted the scratches on Reggie’s badge, suggesting that perhaps this wasn’t his first incident at a celebrity gathering.
‘Your badge looks like it’s bit the dust a few times,’ the follower wrote.
Reggie suffered an injury during the New Year, following the removal of a video she uploaded on Facebook due to breaches of their community standards.
In November, the two-time Big Brother champion took to Instagram to inform her followers that she might face removal from the platform following a caution for posting a video where she purchased some Spanx shaping undergarments.
She mentioned that it seems as though someone is targeting her, given the numerous restriction notices she’s receiving from Facebook.
Regarding the video I recently made, where I tried on Spanx, people are commenting that it’s suggestive or sexual. However, let me clarify that there was absolutely no sexual intent in trying on Spanx undergarments.
Additionally, she mentioned another video where she inflated a floating toy, but that clip too was taken down due to rule infringements.
Reggie added, “Afterward, I was flagged once more due to the video where I inflated a swimming floatie. There was absolutely no sexual content involved in it.
As someone who grew up by the beach and spent countless hours playing with water toys, I find it hard to comprehend the absurdity of being penalized for sharing a simple video of inflating a floatie online. In my experience, these moments bring joy and memories, not censorship. It’s truly baffling that in today’s digital age, we are restricted from expressing such innocent and carefree experiences.
Reggie said ‘someone’ is reporting all her videos and she ‘can’t even appeal’.
This appears to be Facebook, yet I’m encountering an issue where my posts are being reported excessively. I believe this may be due to serious reports, which unfortunately makes it impossible for me to file an appeal. It’s quite bewildering.
She expressed, “Compared to some other things I’ve encountered online, posting a photo of trying on underwear and inflating a pool toy might not seem that outrageous to me. But honestly, I’m at a loss as to how to react anymore. I guess you could say the whole situation has become utterly chaotic.
She suggested, “Is there a chance we could launch another site where we can inflate pool floats without fearing restrictions?
Reggie created a unique milestone by being the initial contestant on Big Brother to claim victory not once, but twice – the first triumph taking place in 2003, and the second in 2022.
Regardless of earning a quarter of a million dollars each from Big Brother in 2003 and 2022, the television personality has faced financial difficulties throughout their career.
The bird has been declared visually impaired due to a condition called retinitis pigmentosa, as well as Usher syndrome – a seldom seen genetic disorder that impacts both hearing and sight.
