Big Brother legend Pete Bennett makes rare public appearance at screening of Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson’s biopic I Swear – 19 years after winning the show

A famous winner from the reality show Big Brother was seen in public on Monday. They went to a special showing of the movie I Swear, which tells the story of John Davidson, an advocate for people with Tourette’s syndrome.

Pete Bennett, 43, won the famous reality show in 2006. The season also included Nikki Grahame, Imogen Thomas, and Grace Adams-Short as fellow contestants.

Pete, who was diagnosed with Tourette’s and discussed it on Big Brother, was present at the premiere, walking the red carpet. He had previously been open about his condition.

The film tells the story of John Davidson, a 54-year-old activist, who received a diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome when understanding of the condition was limited.

At the film screening, Pete seemed cheerful while posing for photos on the red carpet. He wore a leather jacket and showed off his many tattoos.

The movie features Robert Aramayo as John, an activist who was present at the showing. It tells the story of his early life in Glasgow, focusing on when he first received a diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome.

The new season of Big Brother began on ITV Sunday evening, marking the third series since the channel brought the show back in 2023. It’s a fresh start for the iconic reality show.

Last year, Pete shared a photo taken behind the scenes of his new film, Fall To The Top, where he portrays a ‘seasoned drug dealer’.

The actor and singer was spotted with his co-star and the film’s director, Peter Hirst, while they were taking a break from shooting.

Pete is joining Chuckle Brothers legend Paul Chuckle in the cast of a new film. The 77-year-old comedian was recently spotted filming scenes playing the character of The Jackal, a hitman.

Pete seemed to be in good spirits while watching video footage on a camera with Peter, inside what looked like a conservatory. Other crew members were also visible nearby.

Pete, who portrays Paul in the intense movie, looked relaxed and comfortable in his everyday clothes – a T-shirt with a skull design, a dark grey hoodie, and cream trousers with a pattern.

Sharing a photo from set, Peter – known for his roles in shows like Sky’s Brassic and other films – wrote: ‘Had a fantastic time filming today with @petebennettuk and the crew of @falltothetopofficialmovie. @shelly.7919 @johnny_wilson_official @stephenreillyactor.’

The film’s official Instagram page details Pete’s character as an experienced drug dealer who grew up on the streets. He’s confident and well-informed, working for Kenny and remaining consistently loyal. He’s happy with his current position and doesn’t aspire to climb the ranks. He’s also an animal lover and occasionally tries the drugs he sells.

I’ve been following Pete since he won Big Brother, and it’s been amazing to watch his career take off! He’s really gone for it with acting, appearing in all sorts of things – I’ve seen him in several comedies, and even some zombie movies! He’s also been doing a lot of independent films, which I really admire. It’s great to see him taking on diverse roles.

He also appeared alongside Catherine Tate and Matthew Horne in 2022’s The Nan Movie.

Pete is also the lead singer of punk Rock’n’Roll band Love Dogz.

Pete quickly won over millions of viewers when he joined the show, even though he lives with chronic Tourette Syndrome. His distinctive style – including bleached hair, eye-liner, and an unusual wardrobe – made him especially endearing.

His relationship with Nikki, a fellow contestant who sadly passed away in 2021, was a major topic of conversation during his time on the show’s seventh season. It was an on-again, off-again romance that viewers often discussed.
