Big Brother Drama: Why Two Houseguests Aren’t Even Trying to Win!
Heed my words, fellow movie enthusiast! The following discussion may unveil secrets from the latest episodes of Big Brother, as observed on the live feeds up until Tuesday, July 15th. Proceed with caution, for unwanted spoilers lie ahead!
Each year of Big Brother seems incomplete without its fair share of criticisms, and unfortunately, this season has started off with a few hiccups such as delayed live feeds and the absence of a beloved feature. To make matters worse, two Houseguests have been causing me frustration right from the beginning of Season 27. It seems like this issue arises every year, but I can’t recall the last time someone openly stated so early in the game that they aren’t even attempting to win.
Though these comments likely won’t make it into the episodes, especially given the 90-minute broadcasts on Wednesdays, rest assured that they haven’t gone unheard by those loyal viewers who are subscribed to Paramount+. For those who might have missed it, here’s a summary of the comments and why I find myself somewhat upset (as a fan) over two housemates in particular.
Kelley And Rylie Are Already Talking About Not Wanting To Win Big Brother
During her brief time on Big Brother, Kelley Jorgensen has taken actions that have raised eyebrows. She asked her Final 2 partner, Vince Panaro, to nominate her when he first won Head of Household (HOH), and then reinforced this request when Ashley Hollis won the Week 1 veto competition and removed herself from the block.
Currently, Jorgensen is being considered for eviction. If she doesn’t win the BB Blockbuster, there’s a strong possibility she might become the first housemate to leave the game. Interestingly, her recent remarks to Rylie Jeffries in the live feeds suggest that she may not be too distraught about this outcome.
It sounds so bad, but I’m genuinely not here to win. I’m here to make a name for myself.
If Kelley somehow convinces her Final 2 partner to eliminate her in the first week, she’ll undoubtedly create a strong impression. Yet, I suspect that’s not the sort of notoriety she aspires for, given that contestants who struggle or are eliminated early from Big Brother often find little advantage in the fame associated with the show.
Later, we have Rylie, who might still be dazed from the house exposing him as an accomplice at first sight. Caught on camera expressing his lack of enthusiasm for the prize money, since he sees greater financial potential in the chances he can seize beyond the house.
In simpler terms, I had reservations about inviting Rylie as a Houseguest, and his attitude only strengthens my concerns. While he’s eager to participate in the competition aspect of Big Brother, he seems disinterested in the social dynamics that are crucial for success in the game. I respect honesty and integrity, but it’s disappointing when someone refuses to engage altogether, especially since they should have been aware that interacting strategically is a key part of the show.

Why Do These Comments Irk Me As A Longtime Fan?
Year after year, countless individuals apply for the opportunity to battle it out on Big Brother. The selection process is extensive, often leading to selection. Interestingly, it’s common knowledge that the casting crew actively seeks out influencers, athletes with a substantial online presence, and acquaintances of past Houseguests, regardless of whether they’ve ever seen the show, for participation.
More On Big Brother

As a devoted admirer, I’m immersed in Dan Gheesling’s debut Big Brother season, and there’s one feature from his era that I can’t help but yearn for a comeback. Could we possibly reintroduce it?
It appears Rylie fits into this category, as he admitted on the feeds that he believed the viewers chose the winner for Season 27. Although I can see the worth of newcomers, it’s disheartening when they seem unaware of the game’s rules and don’t seem to prioritize playing it correctly.
In simpler terms, Kelley appears to prioritize self-promotion over truly winning the game. It’s disheartening for fans who are consistently turned away each year, as they’re often overshadowed by contestants who, in my opinion, don’t show genuine respect for the game.
In simpler terms, I prefer watching participants in a competition who are eager to win and show their competitive spirit. If someone doesn’t seem too invested in winning during the initial week, I predict they won’t make for engaging television. They often just spend time within the house without making significant moves or strategic decisions. That’s why I strongly advocate for Big Brother to focus on casting individuals who are fans of the show or genuinely want to compete, as it can be disappointing when I find myself quickly dismissing certain Houseguests from the game early on.
