Big Brother Australia’s Michael reveals what he REALLY thinks of Holly and Colin’s romance

Michael Downs, recently eliminated from Big Brother Australia, has shared his thoughts on the developing romance between housemates Colin and Holly.

On Monday’s Matty and Gina show on Star 104.3 FM, the father of one criticized some of his former housemates, describing them as irritating, childish, and constantly complaining.

The first houseguest voted off of Big Brother in 2025 didn’t hold back when talking about Holly Young, who is rumored to be in a romantic relationship with her significantly younger co-star, Colin Ridley.

During the interview, 47-year-old Michael insulted Holly, calling her a ‘fake,’ before sharing his opinion on the couple’s relationship.

Matt Basely, the host, wondered if believing Holly was being dishonest also meant her relationship with Colin wasn’t real.

Michael didn’t mince words, replying: ‘Mate 100 per cent, everybody knows that.

‘I said that ain’t lasting until halfway down the eviction runway… that’s not a thing!’

During the conversation, Michael participated in a word association game with his hosts, where he had to describe each houseguest from Big Brother in just one word.

Michael called Connor ‘annoying’, Colin ‘immature’, and Jane a ‘whinger’.

He also described Big Brother host Mel Tracina as ‘cute’.

Holly is already facing criticism online, with some accusing her of seeking attention.

After a video circulated online, many fans claimed the 31-year-old was using her 21-year-old partner to remain on the show.

I was watching the show, and it was so interesting to see Holly and Colin sitting apart while one of their housemates was explaining they weren’t participating just for the prize money. It really highlighted a difference in perspective, and I couldn’t help but notice the distance between Holly and Colin during that moment.

However, as soon as Holly made eye contact with the camera, her demeanour changed.

The reality star then quickly became touchy with her on-screen beau, pulling him in for a cuddle.

This happened after Michael was voted off the show on Sunday, along with Holly and Jane, a contestant known for her support of Donald Trump.

Michael, who has angered viewers with his ‘sexist’ views, blamed young women for voting him out.

After learning the results, he explained, ‘I’m not getting votes from younger women – they’re supporting someone else.’

Fans were celebrating on X, with many glad to see the publisher go home.

‘I’m happy Michael got evicted. Australia made the right call this week,’ one person wrote.

Another slammed him as a ‘loser’ while one more said sarcastically, ‘See ya Michael!’

One viewer angrily tweeted, ‘Michael, I really dislike you!’ Another commented that Michael had only offered questionable opinions and insights.
