Big Brother Australia fans label Holly Young fake after she is busted ‘playing for the cameras’: ‘She’s using Colin’

Holly Young from Big Brother Australia is facing criticism online after viewers accused her of acting for the show’s cameras.

The reality TV star caused quite a stir when she began a passionate relationship with fellow contestant Colin, and viewers have frequently seen them kissing and cuddling during the show’s live broadcasts.

Fans are now claiming the 31-year-old is using her 21-year-old partner to remain on the show, after a video surfaced appearing to show her behaving differently when she realized cameras were filming.

In the video, Holly and Colin were shown sitting apart while a fellow housemate explained they weren’t participating in the show for the prize money.

However, as soon as Holly made eye contact with the camera, her demeanour changed. 

The reality star then quickly became touchy with her on-screen beau, pulling him in for a cuddle. 

After the video was shared on TikTok, many viewers commented, noticing Holly’s strategies during the show.

One viewer commented, ‘Couples make it to the end – smart move!’ suggesting a houseguest was faking a relationship to improve their chances of winning Big Brother.

Another fan added: ‘She is playing for the cameras.’

Someone else predicted she wouldn’t succeed, saying it was obvious the whole thing wasn’t real.

Other viewers took pity on Colin, accusing Holly of ‘using him’ to get ahead. 

One upset fan accused Holly of manipulating Colin, writing that she was ‘a mess’ and ‘using him.’ Another fan bluntly told her to ‘stop playing with Colin’s emotions’ and wished her goodbye.

This isn’t the first time Holly has been in the hot seat during her time on Big Brother Australia. 

Things got really tense this week when Holly and Colin’s very public affection bothered one of the housemates a lot.

After calling a house meeting, 67-year-old Jane expressed her frustration, saying she didn’t want to interfere in the situation and emphasizing that she was entitled to her own perspective as the oldest resident.

She said if she caught her sons passionately kissing on her couch, she’d likely give them a light smack.

Honestly, even though Holly kept telling her she was wrong, and that wasn’t how things happened at all, Jane just wouldn’t stop! She just kept going on and on, it was unbelievable. I mean, Holly was so calm and polite, and Jane just… wouldn’t listen! It was infuriating to watch, seriously.

I really don’t want to hear this! I’m trying to talk while sitting here, but I can clearly hear you kissing under the covers.

Holly hit back, saying: ‘We were talking. It’s a shared space!’

Jane abruptly left the meeting after exclaiming, ‘I’m available! Do it somewhere private!’

I’m surrounded by all of you young people, and I really don’t want to witness any of that. It feels inappropriate to me, especially while I’m getting to know everyone, and I can even hear kissing sounds! That’s enough.
