Big Bird makes history at Red Bull Kumite 2025: “I’m happy to have won it again!”

Big Bird made history in Paris, France by becoming a two-time champion of Red Bull Kumite!

Adel “Big Bird” Anouche emerged victorious in the 2025 Red Bull Kumite World Final, a feat that earned him his second gold medal from this tournament. He had earlier triumphed at Red Bull Kumite in the year 2023.

From April 5 to April 6, some of the best Street Fighter 6 players engaged in fierce competition in Paris, France. The main attractions were a substantial portion of the €50,000 prize money and the coveted 2025 Red Bull Kumite trophy.

Following a 5-2 victory over Team Falcons’ Maivine “Kusanagi” Touitou in Round 1, Big Bird progressed to the quarterfinals and secured a 5-3 win against Karmine Corp’s Kilyan “Kilzyou” Faucheux.

In Round 1, Big Bird defeated Team Falcons’ Maivine “Kusanagi” Touitou with a score of 5-2. This victory led to Big Bird moving on to the quarterfinals where they faced off against Karmine Corp’s Kilyan “Kilzyou” Faucheux, ultimately winning with a score of 5-3.

Later on, it was Saul “MenaRD” Mena, the reigning titlist at the time, who stood before Big Bird. In their initial encounters, Big Bird won five matches and lost three against him. Subsequently, Big Bird competed against EndingWalker’s Ryu in the ultimate showdown. In this matchup, Big Bird secured five victories using Rashid while EndingWalker emerged triumphant with his Ryu character on six occasions.

Big Bird expressed his gratitude after winning this year’s trophy, saying, ‘A big thank you to everyone!’ He added that he hopes everyone enjoyed the show and was glad to be back at Red Bull Kumite, a event he truly cherishes. Winning it again made him even happier. So once more, a heartfelt thanks to all of you!

Apart from the game itself, the victorious player also shared his triumph on social platforms, mentioning that he has now claimed two titles in total, using two distinct Street Fighter 6 characters – Marisa and Rashid. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to expand his collection of trophies with another addition!

Amjad “AngryBird” Al-Shalabi, who prepared together with Big Bird for this competition, also extended his congratulations on social media. In his post, he stated that Big Bird is the most skilled player in the entire universe and when he’s in top form, he can’t be beaten. AngryBird proudly mentioned that he feels privileged to train alongside him.

It’s worth mentioning that this latest win for Big Bird makes him one of just two players, along with Atsushi “Fujimura” Fujimura, who have each claimed two championship titles in the Red Bull Kumite competition.
