Bianca Censori has discussed the impact of Kanye West’s very public struggles on her own well-being, sharing how his outbursts affected her mental health.
The architect, age 31, married Kanye, 48, in 2022, but hasn’t spoken publicly about the recent controversies surrounding him.
Bianca has spoken out for the first time about several serious issues involving her partner, including his antisemitic comments, a sexual harassment lawsuit from his staff, and accusations that he pressured her to dress in a way she wasn’t comfortable with.
When asked about the rapper’s periods of intense energy and instability, Bianca became emotional, saying she simply tries to be supportive and help him through it.
Honestly, this year felt like a constant, exhausting struggle to keep someone alive – and that someone is him. I just… I feel so deeply for him, I have all this love and understanding, and it’s like nobody else gets it. They don’t understand how much he means to me, or why I’d be willing to fight so hard. It’s just… me and him, in a way.
Although it’s been challenging to support him, Bianca has said she once thought about leaving Kanye, but quickly understood those feelings weren’t deeply held.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Bianca defended Kanye, stating he isn’t antisemitic and explaining that he frequently becomes intensely focused on specific things.
She explained that she questioned him about his intense focus on Jewish people and Nazism, but his response wasn’t clear or memorable.
Kanye’s controversial statements caused a huge public outcry and cost him many lucrative brand partnerships. However, Bianca stated she didn’t even consider a ‘PR fix’ because her priority was supporting Kanye and their relationship.
Kanye West faced criticism and legal action from previous employees who accused him of creating a toxic workplace, including allegations of abuse and assault.
Lauren Pisciotta, who used to work as Kanye West’s assistant, has accused him of sexual assault and harassment. She alleges he forced oral sex on her during a work trip and claims there were multiple instances of inappropriate behavior. West denies these accusations.
Jenn An, who appeared on America’s Next Top Model, has filed a lawsuit against Kanye West, claiming he violated New York law regarding gender-motivated violence. She alleges he choked her, jamming his fingers down her throat until she briefly lost consciousness.
She claimed Ye choked her with both hands, covered her face with his hands, and forcibly stimulated her throat with his fingers for about a minute, an act she described as simulating forced oral sex.
Kanye then allegedly screamed: ‘This is art. This is f***ing art. I am like Picasso.’
Ye has asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit, claiming Jenn is trying to stifle his creativity and suppress his artistic expression.
Okay, so I was reading Vanity Fair, and they hit the nail on the head about Bianca! It’s like, she gets it. She seems to totally understand what Kanye – I mean, Ye – has been saying about how making truly incredible art can be…difficult. It can even hurt people, and maybe even feel unfair to them. It’s not about being malicious, it’s just…the creative process can be messy and intense, and she sees that. It’s amazing, honestly, that someone finally understands the sacrifice it takes to create something truly groundbreaking!
She explained that everyone has their own way of doing things, and it’s important to respect their choices, even if they differ from your own.
According to Vanity Fair, the architect suggests that people are only unhappy with the workplace environment now that they’ve left the company—they didn’t seem to mind things when they were still employed.
Honestly, when she talks about it, you can just feel the passion! She’s so right – it’s never just a simple decision to stop working on something you love. It always carries so much weight, and it always hurts, even if it’s the right thing to do. You can tell she really understands how people feel when they have to let go.
Bianca has recently been in the news because of her revealing outfits and public displays of nudity, leading some to speculate whether Kanye West was influencing her choices in clothing and behavior.
However, she maintains that’s not true, and Bianca herself has acknowledged a clear fascination with being nude.
She explained that creating her outfits was a team effort with her husband. They collaborated on her looks, and she always felt it was a joint decision, not that she was ever being directed what to wear.
Bianca also thanked her husband for praying for her as she sought treatment in Spain to address her difficulties managing her emotions.
She shared that she needed to focus on personal growth, as she had developed unhealthy habits that negatively impacted both herself and those she cared about.
I used to rely on others to make me happy, and I’d often blame them when I felt down. I frequently made external factors responsible for my emotional state instead of taking ownership of my feelings.
Bianca shared that she sometimes had angry outbursts with family and friends, and explained she was using benzodiazepines to cope with difficult feelings.
Kanye West shared on Monday what finally led him to seek help, following a long period of making offensive and controversial remarks.
As a longtime fan, it was honestly heartbreaking to see everything unfold with Kanye. But I was relieved to see him take responsibility, even if it was through a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal. He explained that a lot of the hurtful things he said came when he was really struggling with his bipolar disorder, and it felt like a step towards acknowledging the pain he caused and taking ownership of his mental health.
The rapper, known as Ye, has said he suffered a brain injury in a car accident in 2002. He believes this injury wasn’t recognized at the time and later contributed to his diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
Kanye West explained in a Vanity Fair interview that his recent letter wasn’t a publicity stunt to fix his public image. He said he was genuinely driven by feelings of regret that were deeply affecting him.
Kanye shared that he started getting help when his wife realized he was experiencing a serious bout of depression after switching medications.
He has since received a ‘stabilizing course correction’ at a rehab based in Switzerland.
Near the end of my four-month period of mania, my medication was adjusted. Unfortunately, the new medication caused me to quickly become severely depressed.
My wife realized I needed help, so we found a treatment program in Switzerland that has a good track record of helping people manage their condition and get back on track. It’s important to understand that bipolar disorder is a serious illness – it can be one of the most dangerous conditions a person can live with, even if it isn’t directly life-threatening.
And he admits that his rants were just too much.
He admitted things had gone too far, and looking back at the aftermath, he recognized it didn’t reflect his true self.
Because a lot of people look up to me and pay attention to what I say, it’s important to make my values clear. I want to be remembered as someone who championed love and positivity.
Kanye said his words ‘tarnished’ friendships, familial relations, and ‘deep relationships’.
He explained that each day feels like reviewing a list of everything he remembers saying during a manic or depressive episode.
The relationships I’d spent years building – with my family, close friends, and loved ones – were damaged by thoughtless things I said without thinking.
Kanye explained that his mental health struggles made him feel disconnected from who he really was, and led him to be fixated on what he considered a deeply harmful symbol: the swastika.
The ad, funded by Yeezy and written by Kanye West, was titled ‘To Those I Hurt.’ In it, he explained that after experiencing a difficult period several months prior, his wife encouraged him to get help, which he then did.
The ad starts with a story from twenty-five years ago: I was in a car accident that broke my jaw and injured the front part of my brain. Back then, doctors and everyone else focused on what they could see – the broken jaw, swelling, and immediate injuries. But the more serious injury, the one inside my brain, wasn’t recognized at the time.
Thorough tests weren’t performed, and the neurological evaluations were incomplete. No one considered the possibility of an injury to the front part of my brain, which meant the problem wasn’t correctly identified until 2023. This medical mistake significantly harmed my mental wellbeing and ultimately led to my diagnosis of bipolar type-1.
He also said, ‘Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem.’
Kanye approved the message, which stated the ad was paid for by Yeezy and included contact information for Yeezy’s CFO.
