As I delve into this heartwarming tale, I am struck by the profound transformation that Tom’s life has undergone since his days on Britain’s Got Talent. From the moment he stepped onto that stage and left the audience spellbound with his rendition of Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall,” Tom embarked on a journey that would change his life forever.

As a devoted admirer, when Tom Ball, the renowned contestant on Britain’s Got Talent, and his spouse received the heartbreaking news from NHS doctors that our odds of conceiving through IVF were exceedingly slim, it left us shattered.

For quite some time, they had persistently endeavored to achieve their aspiration of parenthood, yet faced numerous challenges. Medical professionals suggested that investing in their treatment would merely be an unnecessary expense for taxpayers, despite the fact that both members of the couple were still relatively young in their 20s.

The impact was especially harsh since Hannah is employed by the NHS, where she takes care of critically ill children in a Sussex hospital as a pediatric nurse.

However, Tom, who finished third on Britain’s Got Talent in 2022 and then appeared on America’s Got Talent: All Stars the following year, has disclosed that following a single round of privately funded IVF, they are expecting their miraculous baby, due in January.

During an interview with TopMob, the ex-drama teacher from a comprehensive school shared: ‘Upon hearing from the NHS that the probability of IVF being successful was extremely slim and not worth their investment, we felt utterly disheartened.’

‘This really is our miracle baby – and I can’t stop saying it. We are both over the moon.

It’s all such a wonderful, almost surreal experience, having our little miracle child. Every moment is precious, and we’re cherishing each one of them because we’re truly overjoyed.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just launched my first album, and the following year promises an exciting journey as I embark on my largest tour yet across the United Kingdom. This tour will see me performing at no less than 35 venues scattered throughout the country. Additionally, I’m currently immersed in creating my second album, so stay tuned for more music!

Above all, he feels incredibly grateful that his journey in show business, ignited by the ITV talent show where he won over the nation with his captivating vocals, now leads him to parenthood.

Over the past two years, Tom shared, have been simply amazing. Not only have I gotten to traverse the globe and share my music, but they’ve also allowed me to embark on a new journey – starting a family, he added.

In our situation, since I worked as a teacher, and my spouse was a nurse, it would’ve been financially challenging for us to opt for private services. However, the turn of events made that impossible expense unnecessary.

It’s almost unbelievable, yet here I am – a professional musician who tours and records full-time. This career shift has utterly transformed my life.

‘Due to the numerous wonderful chances that came our way, it became possible for us to transition into a private setting, with the hope of preserving our dream of parenthood.’

Despite having the necessary financial resources, the couple residing in Crawley, West Sussex, were apprehensive about the challenges that lay ahead with undergoing IVF treatment.

They’ve shared that they talked to people experiencing similar fertility challenges, and they understood just how emotionally painful such experiences can be.

Tom, often likened to performers such as Michael Buble and Michael Ball, unveiled his first album titled “Curtain Call” in May, coincidentally the same month when his wife Hannah announced her pregnancy.

During the week when Hannah underwent an egg transfer, it turned out that Tom was required to perform at a string of shows in Mykonos, Greece. It wasn’t until his return home that he found out they were expecting a child.

Hannah expressed: ‘Tom wasn’t around, and I found myself conducting daily pregnancy tests! I couldn’t help myself. The first test showed a very faint line, so I did another one the following day, and then another. I kept this secret from Tom. I was terrified. It was at the airport when I picked him up that I informed him about it and displayed all the results. That moment was incredibly joyful, but we also had to tread carefully because we weren’t sure what might transpire.’

Tom found the ideal gift for Hannah when he bought her a ‘pregnancy locket’ during their efforts to conceive naturally.

He said: ‘The favourite part of that day, about a year and a half before, when me and Han were really, really starting to get frustrated and annoyed that we weren’t able to conceive, I was up in Liverpool doing a show. I saw this locket with the words ‘mum to be’ engraved on the back so I bought it and kept it hidden from Hannah all this time. The moment she told me I ran upstairs and gave it to her.’

In fact, she cried and cried.

She added: ‘It was the most beautiful present and the fact that he’d got it all those months before and kept it hidden, it was just so special. I wear it everyday. It’s got a picture of our successful embryo inside, and then when baby arrives, I’ll be able to add another picture.’

For the initial few days after learning they were expecting, the couple chose to conceal their happy news. On May 24th, which also marked the release of Tom’s debut album, they decided it was time to share their exciting family news with their loved ones.

Tom mentioned: ‘It was truly extraordinary to share the album release with my loved ones and reveal that we were expecting a new addition to our family. An unforgettable moment it has been! The most delightful aspect of everything, I’d say, has been sharing the news and cherishing this period.’

Currently, Hannah is at 23 weeks of pregnancy. We’ve had our ultrasound scan and chosen not to reveal the baby’s gender just yet. We’ve agreed on a girl name already, but we’re having a disagreement about a boy name. I may yield to her preference in this matter, as it seems she will prevail. Nevertheless, I am fine with that! Lately, Hannah has started to show visibly, though the noticeable bump has appeared only over the past three or four weeks.

In simple terms, the couple eagerly anticipate the year 2025 as they are set to welcome a new family member towards its start (end of January), followed closely by Tom’s major UK tour, titled “Spotlight,” which kicks off in March, only two months later.

He mentioned that he’ll be going on a tour, but he’ll have opportunities to return home between performances. He also confirmed that Han is welcome to drop by with the baby. They’ve even purchased mini headphones in anticipation. Needless to say, everything feels quite thrilling.

As an over-the-moon fanatic, I never anticipated the sheer joy that came with touring alongside The Overtones. They’ve been more than just mentors; they’ve been a treasure trove of knowledge. Come year-end, I’ll be joining them for a few more shows, and then, next year, it’s my time to shine with the grandest tour I’ve ever embarked upon!

Additionally, I’m excited to work on my upcoming second album. It will feature tracks inspired by the stage, screen, and undeniably some tunes connected to the theme of a baby! At this point, we’re brainstorming ideas, but rest assured, there will be content in the album tailored especially for our little one.

Tom is ensuring he’ll stay home with his spouse, Hannah, during their preparation for childbirth and the initial weeks following, before embarking on tour and working on his second album.

Hannah jokes: ‘I’ll be popping out a baby and he’ll be popping out another album and tour!’

Since his first audition on Britain’s Got Talent in 2022, Tom’s life has undergone a significant transformation.

In simpler terms, Hannah observed him performing Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall” while the spectators rose to their feet in applause.

In a glowing statement, judge Amanda Holden praised Tom as exceptionally talented, noting that his vocals were among the finest ever displayed during the show’s 16-year run. Despite placing third in the competition, Tom swiftly jetted off to America to participate in America’s Got Talent: All Stars.

In the course of the program, he became the very first contestant to receive the gold buzzer as part of a group, an event unprecedented in the show’s history. A video of him performing ‘The Sound of Silence’ quickly spread across the internet and garnered over 90 million views online.

After achieving triumph on two singing competitions, Tom decided to abandon his teaching profession in order to focus fully on his musical endeavors. Additionally, he went through a transformation, cutting off his signature long locks.
