Beyond Paradise shares big season 3 update

As a seasoned gamer of crime dramas with a penchant for British detective series, I can hardly contain my excitement about the start of filming for Beyond Paradise season three! Having binge-watched every episode of Death in Paradise and its spin-off, I’ve grown fond of the characters in Shipton Abbott, especially DI Humphrey Goodman. The new cases sound intriguing, and I can only imagine the twists and turns that await us in this picturesque setting.

Beyond Paradise season three has received an exciting update.

Filming for the third season of the “Death in Paradise” spin-off has begun, as announced by the BBC after the series was renewed in April.

The upcoming collection of episodes is set to challenge the Shipton Abbott squad, under the guidance of DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall), with a series of fresh, puzzling cases. These include a corpse discovered in the river, a perplexing case of chocolate box poisoning, a long-standing agricultural conflict, and an unexplained incident involving water contamination.

Moving beyond the precinct, Martha and Humphrey face unforeseen obstacles in their role as foster parents. Meanwhile, the return of Martha’s former lover, Archie, introduces an unexpected complication to their lives.

Meanwhile, as Esther deals with an unexpected turn in her personal affairs, Anne faces a health issue that resurfaces old pains, and Kelby sets off on a path aimed at self-development.

Sally Bretton will once again take on the character of Martha Lloyd, with other original cast members such as Zahra Ahmadi (DS Esther Williams), Dylan Llewellyn (PC Kelby Hartford), and Barbara Flynn (Anne Lloyd) also returning to their roles.

Jamie Bamber reappears once more, playing the role of Archie Hughes – a figure we last encountered during the initial season of the series.

“Tim Key from Red Planet Pictures is thrilled to be back in the captivating South West region, where they are currently filming what could be their most compelling series so far. This upcoming crime drama will be brimming with mysteries, unexpected twists, challenges, and a generous amount of emotional depth,” says Tim Key.

“It’s a joy to produce this show, and the audience’s enthusiasm towards it never fails to impress. The return of Jamie Bamber to Shipton Abbott is an added thrill; we can hardly contain our excitement as we prepare for everyone to witness what we’ve been working on.”

Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
