Beyond Paradise set for special crossover with beloved long-running BBC show

Beyond Paradise is soon set to cross over with another beloved BBC series.

A popular British crime series is set to intersect with Lee Mack’s extended comedy show, Not Going Out, in a unique skit scheduled for release later in the year.

In the spin-off series titled “Beyond Paradise,” Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton reprise their roles as DI Humphry Goodman and Martha Lloyd. Interestingly, Bretton is also a part of another show called “Not Going Out,” where she plays Lee’s wife, Lucy.

In the forthcoming “Red Nose Day” skit, Bretton’s dual characters are bound to encounter each other in a humorous mix-up of identities, as their fictional realms unexpectedly intertwine.

Mack has penned a comedy where the characters from “Not Going Out” stir up trouble during their trip to the beach, finding themselves in the unusual realm of “Beyond Paradise.

Bretton commented, “It was an exciting experience to see two worlds intersect, act alongside my twin, and immerse myself in the chaos that often accompanies this situation. What made it even more memorable was that it happened while supporting an outstanding cause like Comic Relief.

The rapid-paced filming left us bewildered about the direction, it seemed like a whirlwind. I’m astounded by Lee Mack, marveling at how he manages to juggle so many fast-moving elements simultaneously in his mind.

“We all had a great day filled with fun, confusion and belly laughs.”

Marshall also shared his delight over the sketch and getting involved in Red Nose Day 2025.

He expressed how enjoyable it is to blend humor with supporting charitable causes like those backed by Comic Relief. Additionally, he mentioned that as part of a comedic mix-up and a tribute to two popular BBC shows, he can contribute to this year’s entertaining event filled with laughter, games, and fundraising.

On Red Nose Day 2025, which falls on March 21, starting at 7pm, the blend of “The Not Going Out” and “Beyond Paradise” episodes will be broadcast on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
