Beyoncé turned damp Tottenham Hotspur into a giant nightclub (and didn’t let the rain stop her!)… the night was a masterpiece!
LIVE: BEYONCÉ (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London)
Verdict: Queen Bey earns her Spurs
Last night, the cowboy hats and sparkling attire were abundant, as Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour made its way to London, accompanied by an explosion of fireworks.
Kicking off her six-night stint at the wet Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Texas sensation felt right at home.
Two years back, during her Renaissance tour, she transformed stadiums into massive dance clubs. Last night, she transformed one into a cutting-edge rodeo, featuring a sleek, robotic bull for riding.
At the concert, Queen Bey, aged 43, delivered a predominantly female audience a soulful rendition of Nashville-style music, drawing from her Cowboy Carter album released in 2024. Simultaneously, she kept the crowd engaged by belting out her biggest pop tunes, many of which were enthusiastically returned by the fans themselves.

The evening unfolded as a skillfully orchestrated sequence of distinct performances, capped off by an encore, where Beyoncé’s captivating voice and stage presence took center stage amidst intricate choreography and dazzling LED displays.
The performance focused on the Grammy-winning album from last year, an auditory experience that seemed almost like a staged musical production set in the Old West.
Beyonce declared that she wouldn’t allow the rain to hinder her performance, as she confidently strode onto the stage adorned with cowgirl chaps, joined by a lively dance group.
She performed a folksy rendition of The Beatles’ “Blackbird” followed by transforming “The Star-Spangled Banner” into a powerful ballad.
Cowboy Carter showcased various standout tracks such as the country-infused soul tune “Levii’s Jeans” (her unique spelling), the lively fiddle-driven dance number “Texas Hold ‘Em”, a rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”, and the smooth, rhythmic country track “Bodyguard”.
In a vehicle colored pink, she was singing a powerful ballad titled “16 Carriages,” all while floating above the ground as if seated on a spinning carousel.
Delving into the breadth of her musical repertoire, she also explored the 2022’s Renaissance album, a blend of disco, funk, and house that was more comfortable to her. She performed a high-energy medley of the classic songs Crazy In Love and Single Ladies as a dance-pop fusion, bringing the crowd to their feet.
Prior discussions hinted at slow ticket sales, and surprisingly, even as the event approached, numerous tickets for this concert with a capacity of 62,000 remained unsold online late in the day beforehand. This has fueled suspicions that steep prices might be deterring fans from attending.

It appeared that there were some vacant chairs nearby, yet it seems that rumors about Beyoncé’s ability to captivate audiences may have been overstated.
During the evening, breaks for video segments were inserted to facilitate costume changes, which occasionally disrupted the flow of events.
As a connoisseur of style and living, I must say that the meticulously planned performances in this show often left minimal wiggle room for spontaneity. However, there were instances where she effortlessly improvised, delivering moments of pure brilliance, and her voice transcended into operatic heights, creating unforgettable scenes.
The Cowboy Carter tour has received positive responses in the singer’s native country, but winning over American fans at Chicago’s Soldier Field is quite another feat.
Can Beyoncé hold her own on a cold Thursday evening in London? Given her electrifying performance in Tottenham, she’s certainly proven she belongs there.
Beyonce’s London residency continues until June 16
