Beyonce rocks Kamala Harris t-shirt as she jets back to her hometown of Houston to vote on Election Day
As a long-time fan of Beyonce and someone who has attended numerous concerts over the years, I must say I was truly disappointed by her brief appearance at the rally for Vice President Kamala Harris. While I understand that she was there to support a cause close to her heart, I felt that the billing for a “Beyonce performance” was misleading and left many fans feeling let down.
On Election Day, Beyoncé demonstrated her ongoing backing for Kamala Harris by returning to her birthplace, Houston, to cast her vote.
On Tuesday, the renowned figure, aged 43, shared an Instagram post featuring a brief video of herself wearing a T-shirt bearing an old photograph of the Democratic presidential nominee.
The image was of Harris as a graduating senior at Howard University in 1986.
At Harris’ rally last month, the performer chose to wear a matching shirt and a miniskirt made of snake-skin material, which had an enticing split up the thigh.
She finished off her ensemble with knee-high boots that matched, and styled her lovely, wavy blonde hair.
The mom-of-three also kept warm with an oversized beige jacket.
Furthermore, she also posted a picture of her flight monitor, showing she was in Houston, as well as a photograph of her stepping off her plane while wearing a cowboy hat.
There was also a snap showing her gold nails which spelled out ‘vote.’
Beyoncé continued by posting additional photos of a younger Kamala Harris, opting not to add any captions.
Previously on Tuesday, she had shared yet another Halloween costume, this time channeling Pamela Anderson with a series of captivating photos.
The beauty slipped into the star’s iconic red Baywatch swimsuit as well as her Barb Wire look.
Previously, her supporters found themselves enraged when the singer did not show up for a Texas rally supporting Harris last month.
In Houston, Beyonce graced the stage to support Harris. Some enthusiastic supporters had patiently queued for over twelve hours, eagerly anticipating a show at the Shell Energy Stadium. The excitement grew as speculation about her singing performance spread online and the Washington Post hinted at her imminent appearance.
The artist seemed on the verge of pleasing the audience as she hinted at the idea that America should start singing a different tune, or in other words, embrace change.
In the end, fans who went to see the performance were let down because the ‘Single Ladies’ artist made a quick visit where she clarified that she wasn’t there as a famous person, but as a parent instead.
Attendees reported seeing people marching towards the exit as soon as she left the stage.
On social media, it was evident that many fans felt deceived, as they expressed their frustration about being tricked with the pricing.
Someone was upset, saying it was deceptive marketing for event attendance (‘bait and switch’),” the comment read. “They were expecting a concert featuring Beyonce but found out she had left the stage, causing many attendees to rush out.
“She struggles to fulfill her commitments to her supporters, not even managing to put on a convincing Beyonce-like performance. Yet, she claims she’ll definitely secure the border. The inconsistency of Kamala Harris is quite apparent.” Another user commented.
‘Y’all thought y’all were gonna catch a free Beyonce concert,’ one person joked.
Beyonce previously performed during her endorsement for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
A lot of individuals expected that she would perform her song ‘Freedom,’ originally from her 2016 album Lemonade, as it has become the theme song for the Harris campaign.
At the gathering, Beyoncé was accompanied by her ex-bandmate from Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland. However, neither she nor the group performed any of their individual or collective songs.
Instead, the two introduced Harris to rapturous applause.
She expressed her joy about being here on this stage, representing Texas as strong-hearted women, and honoring Vice President Kamala Harris, a truly unique individual,” (paraphrased sentence)
‘We are are at the precipice of an incredible shift, brink of history.’
As a passionate advocate for our planet and its future generations, I wholeheartedly identify with the sentiment expressed by the singer. In this world, we cherish the freedom to make choices concerning our own bodies, ensuring a brighter, healthier, and more sustainable future for all children.
Picture our daughters maturing under the belief that they can achieve anything, without any boundaries or restrictions,” she expressed.
Additionally, she urged the boisterous audience to visualize the sacrifices their grandmothers endured, allowing us to behold a woman asserting her power and reinventing the concept of leadership.
Beyonce addressed everyone stating ‘your vote is one of the most valuable tools, and we need you.’
She said Texas has a role to play and needs to be part of something bigger. ‘It’s time for America to sing a new song,’ she said.
