Be warned: this article contains spoilers for Pluribus season 1, episode 6. Another star from Better Call Saul has joined the cast of Pluribus. Rhea Seehorn, known for her role as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul, now stars as the main character, Carol Sturka, in Vince Gilligan’s science fiction series.
The latest episode of Pluribus featured a voice cameo by Patrick Fabian, best known for his role as Howard Hamlin in Better Call Saul. He provides the voice for the recorded message Carol receives whenever she contacts the hive mind.
Carol Burnett, known for her role in Better Call Saul, has joined the world of Pluribus. She doesn’t appear in an episode, but in a video released by Apple TV where she introduces herself as part of the show’s collective intelligence.
Like the others in the group, Burnett greets Carol, saying, “Hello, Carol. This person also went by the name of Carol.” She then highlights Burnett’s career, especially her appearance on Law & Order: SVU, and tries to persuade Carol to join their collective. You can watch the video below.
In season 6 of Better Call Saul, Burnett portrayed Marion, a significant figure in Saul Goodman’s life following the conclusion of Breaking Bad. Her character appeared in several episodes as Saul faced the consequences of his past actions.
Following John Cena’s surprise appearance in the sixth episode of Pluribus, a new video on Apple TV was released. Like the character Burnett, Cena appears in a pre-recorded message created by the hive mind for Carol after they cut off communication with her. The cameo helps explain why the hive mind eats corpses, even though they claim not to want to take any lives.
Although Burnett hasn’t been featured in an episode of Pluribus yet, there’s still a chance with three episodes remaining in season one and a second season already planned. With almost everyone worldwide now either part of the collective consciousness or infected, we might see other famous faces – perhaps even more stars from Better Call Saul – show up in similar roles down the line.
In addition to the previously mentioned actors, Karolina Wydra plays Zosia, Carlos-Manuel Vesga is Manousos, Samba Schutte plays Koumba Diabaté, and Miriam Shor is Helen in Pluribus. The show has been very well-received by critics, earning a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
