As a seasoned observer of Hollywood’s ever-changing landscape, I must say Bette Midler‘s career is nothing short of awe-inspiring. With over five decades in the industry, she continues to captivate audiences with her undeniable charm and versatile talent.

On a sweltering, 98-degree summer day in New York City, filled with humidity, Bette Midler donned a vibrant ensemble and ventured out to socialize with her friends in Manhattan’s West Village district on Tuesday.

78-year-old Bette Midler, just one Oscar win away from achieving the coveted EGOT status, was spotted hailing a taxi. She was dressed casually in a vibrant, multi-colored blouse, Capri jeans with colorful cuffs, brown sandals, and a grey handbag. On this particular day, her beautiful silver hair was left loose.

Bette, well-known for selling her $50M Fifth Avenue apartment in 2021, found it incredibly enjoyable to participate in a Zoom call hosted by Third Act on Monday evening, which was titled ‘Elders for Kamala’. The event saw the participation of Bette alongside other notable figures like Jane Fonda, Bernie Sanders, and John Kerry.

In one simple rephrase, here it is: “Midler, with over 3.6 million social media followers, praised a heartfelt speech at the fundraiser for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.”

‘For our planet, and for every living thing. Yes, we are older, but we are not done yet! We are going to become the ancestors our descendants need us to be. Be sure to join us for the next one… stay tuned!’

Recently, the Hawaiian-born vocalist disclosed her enthusiasm for reprising her character as singer C.C. Bloom in a follow-up to her 1988 heartrending hit, Beaches, which showcases an enduring female friendship and was shared with Barbara Hershey on screen.

Bette shared with Newsweek that she’d enjoy seeing the character again, but in a new and distinct light. Time has passed, leaving its mark on both her and the character, she explained.

Reflecting upon my own life journey, I find myself captivated by the thought of revisiting a character from my past, particularly during this stage of my life. The music of yesteryears, largely untouched and unexplored by the current generation, has always held a special place in my heart. These songs, hidden gems from a time when three or four generations ago, are like forgotten treasures waiting to be rediscovered.

Garry Marshall, who sadly passed away in 2016, was the director behind the cinema version of Iris Rainer Dart’s 1985 novel. This film grossed an impressive $57 million worldwide, making it profitable despite its production budget of $20 million.

In their previous encounter, Middler’s character, C.C., who is known for her self-centered and bold traits, had been granted primary guardianship of her deceased friend’s daughter, Victoria Essex, played by Grace Johnston.

The Actress known for “Sitting in Bars with Cake” is eagerly awaiting Disney to speed up the writing of the script for the upcoming third film in the “Hocus Pocus” series, which will feature Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy alongside her.

‘I haven’t seen the script, but, I’ve heard rumblings,’ Bette told Busy This Week on July 10.

Based on my personal experiences and observations, I firmly believe that one should seize every opportunity life presents, for time doesn’t wait for anyone. It’s like a runaway train barreling towards its destination with no intention of slowing down. We must grab hold while we can, make the most of our days, and live each moment to the fullest, as if tomorrow might never come. After all, life is too short to waste even a single minute waiting for something that may never happen.

I, a devoted fan, felt a pang of disappointment upon learning that the follow-up to my beloved 1996 film, The First Wives Club, titled Family Jewels, featuring Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton, failed to gain traction.

As a connoisseur of all things stylish and entertaining, I’ve had the privilege to step into the shoes of Marilyn in the delightful comedy “The Fabulous Four,” directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse. This enchanting film, where I portray a widow transformed into a bride, has been gracing our US cinemas since July 26th. To date, it has garnered an impressive $2.5M at the box office, a testament to its charm and appeal.

‘They asked me because I think they needed a ham, a big ole ham,’ Bette told Newsweek.

In simpler terms, ‘I found myself in an unusual predicament, much like a Christmas goose is prepared, because I serve multiple purposes – not just for comedic relief, but also as the main source of conflict. I’m the enigma, my actions often bizarre and unpredictable. The situation is filled with elements of farce, offering the physical humor one expects, and yet, it’s surprising to see women of a certain age participating in such a role.’

Despite The Fabulous Four receiving a poor 27% approval from critics (based on 44 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes, the general public gave it higher marks, with an audience rating of 71%.

I, a die-hard fan here, can’t contain my excitement as I share the news: Sophie von Haselberg, Bette Midler’s daughter, has landed the role of Amanda in that tantalizing tale about lifelong friends! The movie, set in Key West, FL, sees Susan Sarandon, Megan Mullally, and Sheryl Lee Ralph reuniting. Can’t wait to see this on the big screen!

40 years of wedded bliss, and I, an overjoyed admirer, can hardly contain my excitement as I celebrate the Kennedy Center Honoree and performance art powerhouse, Martin von Haselberg, marking this milestone anniversary on December 16th. When ET asked for the secret to their ‘fabulous’ union, she shared a fascinating insight: ‘separate bedrooms.’

Bette, with over 1.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, hasn’t put out a new album since her 14th studio release, It’s the Girls, back in 2015. This album led to her Divine Intervention Tour with 32 shows, followed quickly by the release of A Gift of Love compilation album.
