The creators of the forthcoming fan project Skyblivion, a reimagined version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, experience a heartwarming instant when granted complimentary access to Bethesda’s freshly released remaster, Oblivion Remastered.

On a post dated April 23rd, Skyblivion publicly thanked Bethesda Game Studios – one of the creators of the highly praised Elder Scrolls series.

We are incredibly ecstatic, as avid enthusiasts, to have received the incredible generosity of Oblivion Remastered game keys for our whole modding squad! This gesture truly resonates with us.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve always appreciated Bethesda’s unwavering commitment to the modding community. They’ve gone the extra mile by publicly revealing unique tools like the Skyrim Special Edition’s Creation Kit, broadening our creative horizons and making game customization even more exciting!

As a dedicated gamer involved in the Skyblivion project, I can share that we’re regularly communicating with Bethesda through their Discord server. What’s truly amazing is how supportive they are of our efforts. This support becomes even more apparent when the entire Skyblivion team receives free game keys from them. These keys provide us with direct access to the official game, enabling us to gather a wealth of fresh ideas and keep our project vibrant and true to its source.

Additionally, the team pointed out that Bethesda has no plans to close down Skyblivion because opportunities persist for an official update and a fan-created reimagining. Ultimately, it’s the fans who emerge victorious in this scenario.

In spite of all the buzz surrounding Oblivion Remastered, the Skyblivion development team has made it clear to their community that they are continuing to actively work on their project which utilizes the engine from Skyrim Special Edition.

Where to play Skyblivion, and is it moddable?

Unfortunately, console users who own Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch won’t be able to enjoy Skyblivion’s modifications as their systems do not support such changes. At the time of its release, the mod will only be accessible on PC.

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to hear that Skyblivion can be enhanced by other modders! This means we could see even more amazing improvements to the game, addressing potential shortcomings within Skyblivion and even Oblivion Remastered itself.
