Bethenny Frankel breaks silence on ‘unwatchable’ RHONY reboot

Bethenny Frankel breaks silence on 'unwatchable' RHONY reboot

As someone who lived through the golden era of RHONY, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia when I hear about the reboot. I was there when Ramona shat on the floor, Sonja soiled the bed, and Luann fell into the bushes. We were a hot mess, but we were authentic, and that’s what made us special.

Bethenny Frankel, a past cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City, has finally spoken out about the revival of the series.

As a die-hard fan myself, I must confess that hearing about the reboot of the beloved Bravo franchise from the Skinnygirl mogul, now 54, felt like a heartbreaking blow. She shared that longtime fans like us have expressed disappointment, claiming the reboot is simply ‘unwatchable.’

In a recent TikTok post, I shared that I’ve yet to meet these ladies personally, but from what I can tell, they appear kind and delightful. It’s important to clarify that I’m not casting any judgment or blame their way at all.

However, it seems that there was a method to our chaos, given how disorganized we were, she went on, as she referred to her fellow cast members during their time on the show.

I’ve witnessed Ramona Singer soil the floor, Sonja Morgan have an accident on the bed and wear a diaper, and Luann de Lesseps trip into some bushes.

Wow, it seems like those in control are really feeling the sting of regret that our time was truly the golden age for the Housewives.

Afterward, she publicly acknowledged her ex-co-stars, specifically Dorinda Medley and Jill Zarin, with a heartfelt shout-out.

Bravo rebooted the Real Housewives of New York City with an entirely new cast last year for the show’s 14th season.

The new cast stars Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield, with Racquel Chevremont and Rebecca Minkoff joining the following season.

Ever since the show’s comeback, its ratings have been steadily dropping, reaching a record-breaking low during the season 15 opener for the entire franchise.

Longtime RHONY fans have lashed out at the reboot on social media, with many branding it ‘boring.’

As a devoted fan, I must admit that the new Real Housewives of New York isn’t quite hitting the mark for me. Often, I find myself struggling to follow their conversations, as it seems like a continuous back-and-forth of “he said, she said.” It feels like they are more focused on their roles as cast members rather than maintaining genuine friendships. This production appears so contrived and fake, making it hard for me to fully enjoy the series.

‘I love the women on the new RHONY (or most of them) but I do feel like they’re trying so hard to make sure the show doesn’t flop that it’s coming off fake,’ another wrote.

A third added, ‘Sorry but RHONY is so f***ing boring. These women are painfully uninteresting.’

So far, the new RHONY has caused more drama off camera than on.

In March, actress Sai De Silva sparked controversy by commenting that fellow cast member Rebecca Minkoff seemed “quite dull” and “overly kind for the series” during an unintended broadcast on the Jeff Lewis Live radio program.

‘People are trying to take her down but she’s unresponsive,’ she added.

Although Rebecca hasn’t added much dramatic flair to the show, she has sparked curiosity due to her connections with Scientology and the troubling past of her family within that faith.
