As a long-time fan of Indian CS:GO and following the Skyesports Champs 2024 with great anticipation, I must express my deep disappointment and frustration over the current state of affairs. The event, which promised to revitalize the Counter-Strike scene in India, has unfortunately gotten off to a disastrous start.
The event is now down to eleven teams.
The Skyesports Champs 2024, a significant CS:GO tournament in India, has experienced a disappointing beginning. Several Day 1 matches had to be rescheduled due to numerous interconnected issues. One team, BetBoom, has decided to withdraw from the competition taking place in Mumbai, explaining that their initial conditions were not met.
BetBoom withdraws from Skyesports Champs 2024
As a gamer following the Skyesports Champs 2024, I’m excited about this Indian Counter-Strike event taking place in Mumbai. With some renowned International CS:GO teams invited, I was looking forward to witnessing a revival of the esports scene in India. However, Day 1 has left me concerned. A popular team that I was eagerly anticipating withdrew due to unmet promises, causing quite a stir and putting the tournament in a precarious position.
The beginning of the Skyesports Championship 2024 has been marred by various challenges, ranging from infrastructure troubles to internet difficulties and contentious administrative decisions. With some days left in the tournament, it remains to be seen how the organizers will turn things around.
BetBoom announced on social media they will be withdrawing from the event.
As a gamer on BetBoom Team, I can tell you that unfortunately, we’ve hit a roadblock in our participation in the Skyesports Championship. Despite our best efforts to work things out with the organizers and meet the promised conditions, it just hasn’t panned out. So, after much deliberation, we’ve made the tough decision to withdraw from the tournament.
On the first day of the Skyesports Champs 2024, I experienced numerous delays that ultimately resulted in rescheduled and even cancelled matches.
In simpler terms, we think that every team should have an equal opportunity to compete, but this isn’t happening now.
At present, Skyesports has kept quiet about BetBoom’s recent announcement, which leaves us with just 11 teams in the running for the Skyesports Championship 2024. This high-stakes $300,000 event unfolds over six days, and many prominent teams were part of it, generating great anticipation. However, the hold-ups on Day 1 have tarnished the reputation of the tournament organizers.
