The 2026 Oscars are almost here, and films like One Battle After Another, Hamnet, and Sinners are considered strong contenders for the Best Picture award.
What about all the great movies that the Academy overlooked, or films released too late in the year to be considered?
The Daily Mail is highlighting popular movies that weren’t nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Oscars.
These films have been highly rated by viewers, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Movie review websites let both professional critics and regular moviegoers share their opinions. These sites often use a ‘popcorn meter’ or similar tool to show how much the general audience liked a film, expressed as a percentage of positive ratings.
Currently, “Nuremberg,” a tense historical thriller featuring Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, and Leo Woodall, is the top-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes. It premiered in theaters on November 7th.
The movie centers on U.S. Army psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Malek), who is tasked with evaluating the mental states of prominent Nazi leaders like Hermann Göring (Crowe) both before and during the Nuremberg trials.

Everyone seems to agree it’s great – critics loved it, fans loved it, and it even has an amazing 88% rating, which really speaks for itself!
