Each season’s finale has a unique soundtrack that’s become a cherished tradition for our community. In this write-up, I delve into my personal ranking of the League of Legends Worlds songs from 2014 to 2024 – from pulsating K-pop numbers to thunderous rock anthems. Ultimately, I’ll crown the one that reigns supreme as the ultimate Worlds track!
It’s important to be straightforward. Not every song is equally impressive. So, we’ve chosen to revise our 2021 rankings to find the undisputed best song for League of Legends Worlds. Our Xpsp Editorial team evaluated only the songs themselves, disregarding their accompanying music videos, in order to declare the winner.
Neither “Worlds Collide” from 2015 nor “Ignite” from 2016 made it into our top 8 list; therefore, let’s group them together at the end.

8. Star Walkin’ by Lil Nas X – Mainstream Worlds anthem
2022 saw me, as a fan, witnessing the monumental mainstream clout that Lil Nas X brought with him when he joined forces to create the anthem for Worlds. The tune, titled “Star Walkin’“, left quite an impression with its infectiously catchy melody and undeniably radio-friendly vibe, earning it a staggering 100 million views on YouTube. However, in our rankings, it landed at number 8 due to the absence of an appropriately epic climax towards the end of the song. Nonetheless, its significant impact on mainstream culture has earned it a well-deserved place among the top League of Legends Worlds songs.
7. Heavy is the Crown by Linkin Park – Worlds 2024
Linkin Park’s newest single, titled “Heavy is the Crown,” was released for League of Legends Worlds 2024. This is the second track from the reformed Linkin Park, with Emily Armstrong as the main vocalist. The song infuses nu-metal and rap-rock elements, showcasing Linkin Park’s signature aggressive yet melodic style at Worlds. Compared to Lil Nas X’s Star Walkin’, Heavy is the Crown boasts a stronger anthemic quality, even though some parts of the lyrics outside of the chorus may seem repetitive. However, the overall energy is undeniably high.
6. Burn it all Down (ft PVRIS) – Worlds 2021
In a joint effort with American pop-rock band PVRIS, Riot Games produced “Burn it All Down,” the main track for Worlds 2021. The song’s standout feature is its lyrics that seamlessly align with the tournament’s themes of competition and underdog narratives. Although grittier than previous Worlds tracks, “Burn it All Down” features more rugged and somber vocals from PVRIS’ Lynn Gunn. We ranked it sixth mainly due to a chorus that seemed less impactful compared to the rest of the song, which could have used more intensity.
5. GODS by NewJeans – Worlds 2023
Partnering with the popular K-Pop group NewJeans, Riot Games chose their song “GODS” as the theme anthem for the Worlds 2023 event. This track boasts polished production, a memorable chorus, and offers a unique twist on traditional anthems.
A strong contender for the song “GODS” falls short in generating excitement, and the lyrics seem somewhat detached from the usual competitive and combat-focused themes characteristic of popular World Cup anthems.
4. Rise (ft. The Glitch Mob, Mako and the Word Alive) – Worlds 2018
Without a doubt, Rise could be considered as a model for the kind of electrifying anthem League of Legends fans anticipate during the World Championship (Worlds). This fusion of EDM and rock has lyrics that align perfectly with the spirit of Worlds, emphasizing themes of overcoming obstacles and striving for glory. Ideal for amping up your excitement for the big match or providing a surge of adrenaline to inspire you to beat the odds. The song’s only disadvantage is the absence of an emotional depth that our top three choices offer. Nonetheless, Rise remains the second most popular Worlds theme on YouTube with over 400 million views.
3. Warriors – A timeless League of Legends Worlds song
The original “Warriors” by Imagine Dragons is an arena rock anthem that has endured through time, making it one of the greatest League of Legends Worlds songs ever produced. With its stunning build-up, grandiose chorus, and powerful lyrics, it remains a fan favorite over a decade later, ranking among our top three picks. Riot Games recognized the popularity of the “Warriors” track so much that they created a cover version to kick off the 2020 season.
2. Phoenix (ft Cailin Russo and Chrissy Constanza) – An emotional powerhouse
The catchy chorus of the 2019 song “Phoenix,” from the Worlds, powerfully proclaims a message about overcoming obstacles and rising above adversity, symbolized by the mythical bird’s ability to rise from its own ashes. This exhilarating anthem, with its lyrics brimming with intensity, is perfectly suited for the grandest League of Legends tournaments of the year. However, what truly sets “Phoenix” apart is its emotional resonance, as demonstrated by the contrast between Cailin Russo’s melancholic vocals and Chrissy Costanza’s impassioned delivery of the chorus. Like Imagine Dragons’ “Warriors,” this track is a timeless addition to the LoL Worlds repertoire.
1. Legends never Die (ft. Against the Current) – Worlds 2017
The song “Legends Never Die,” released for Worlds 2017, showcases the unyielding spirit of true heroes, as penned by the American pop rock band Against the Current and remixed by music producer Alan Walker. This track embodies all the elements you’d expect from a League of Legends Worlds anthem: a gripping intro, eerie verses, and a powerful chorus. The lyrics resonate with the emotional turmoil and determination required to rise above the rest and earn legendary status. Consistently ranked number one, this song is sure to inspire.
