Okay, so I’ve been checking out all the League of Legends skins that dropped in 2025, and I’ve gotta say, some of them are amazing. Top picks for me? Definitely Towel Ahri – it’s hilarious! – and the Volibear skin is super cool with all the fur. Oh, and Pengu Garen? Absolute perfection. Those are the ones I’m grabbing for sure.
Okay, so 2025 was a pretty wild year for League skins – they changed up how they released them quite a bit. But even with all the changes, Riot still dropped some awesome new looks for our champions. I’ve put together a list of what I think were the best League of Legends skins that came out this year.
Best LoL skins released in 2025
121 skins were released this year. This includes Uzi’s Hall of Legends ones with Kai’Sa and Vayne.
Sahn-Uzal Mordekaiser (Exalted)
This is a rare skin, obtainable either through a very low chance drop in the Sanctum or by spending a significant amount of in-game currency – up to 32,000 RP. Despite its initial cost, it’s become incredibly popular, even being used by professional players, and is now considered one of the best skins available.
Sahn-Uzal Mordekaiser wasn’t very popular when it first came out, but Riot Games listened to players and made some changes. The updated skin now has three distinct appearances and two different maces, making Mordekaiser look even more powerful in-game.
This skin is popular with professional League of Legends players. For example, during the 2025 World Championship Finals, KT Rolster’s PerfecT used it, and he wasn’t the only pro player who did.
Victorious Draven
Victorious Draven is a great skin to aim for, even though it’s currently unavailable. It’s not particularly known for how it looks or any special effects in the game. The reason it’s noteworthy is that you need to be at least Honor level 3 to earn it.
Most League of Legends players aren’t surprised by this. Honor level 3 is the typical starting point for all new players, and it’s considered the basic level of good behavior. Draven players are often seen as being difficult or negative, and those who act that way usually have a low Honor level – below 3.
You might wonder why certain things are done in League of Legends. Drew Levin, a director of product management for the game, explains it simply: “We need to give skilled Draven players a way to really shine.”
Spirit Blossom Springs Ahri
Ahri already has many skins, and this is actually her second Spirit Blossom themed one, so it’s understandable to wonder what makes this one special. The name ‘Springs’ feels important for this skin, but the main draw is really the exclusive Mythic chroma: After Hours Spirit Blossom Springs Ahri.
The initial leak of this skin caused a huge reaction within the League of Legends community. The idea of Ahri appearing with just a towel was so unexpected for Riot Games that many people initially dismissed it as a fake. However, once the official reveal confirmed the skin’s design, opinions quickly changed.
The changes weren’t universally popular; many players were upset about the high price of Mythic chromas compared to regular skins, and some felt Ahri received preferential treatment with two Spirit Blossom skins. However, these changes do appeal to a large portion of the game’s player base.
Spirit Blossom Springs Volibear
In the same vein as Ahri above, Volibear also services fans who are into… certain tastes.
The skin looks and feels great in the game! Thanks to Volibear’s recent updates and well-designed skins, any skin you pick for him will offer a fantastic experience.
Glizzy Naafiri
League of Legends’ April Fools skins were a hit this year, especially the ‘Glizzy Naafiri’ skin (and a special mention goes to ‘Urgot the Clogfather’! ). It’s great to see the game still embraces fun and lighthearted content.
Arcane Councilor Mel
Arcane Councilor Mel is another standout skin release. Since Mel was featured in Season 2 of Arcane (released late last year) and became a playable champion in January 2025, the design team had the unique task of creating a skin for a character who originated within the Arcane series itself.
Even ignoring the typical design elements of Mel, the Arcane Councilor could easily fit as her original version. Her in-game appearance is polished, and her powers are satisfying to use. Instead of her usual oranges and reds, she’s themed with Hextech blues to create a more Piltover-inspired look.
Pengu Garen
The Pengu Garen skin is widely considered the best in League of Legends, which makes it disappointing that it was only available for a short time during the April Fools event. What makes this skin unusual is that it actually alters the champion’s size, creating a problem because skins are supposed to be just visual changes and shouldn’t give players an unfair advantage.
Nevertheless, Pengu Garen is deeply missed, and many are hoping for a comeback in 2026.
