The mythical Pokemon Arceus EX, who’s said to have been born before the universe as we know it existed, has made its way into the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket. This powerful entity has sparked a flurry of deck-building activities among players due to its immense power.

Initially, let’s discuss the specific Pokémon cards found within this collection. You should be aware that each card is duplicated, meaning there are two of every card.

Initially, we made sure to add the Arceus EX card (naturally). What sets this Pokemon apart is its unique ability. Remarkably, Arceus is immune to all status conditions, so it can’t fall into a state of paralysis, freeze, or sleep, among others.

Apart from this, his main attack inflicts 20 points of damage on each Pokémon on your bench. Beginning at 70 damage, it could potentially deal over 130 damage, and the cost is just three Energy cards of any kind.

Incorporating Shaymin to the team, its attack inflicts mere 30 points of damage. However, its unique ability reduces the retreat costs for all your Pokémon on the field by one, which can significantly aid various tactics.

To wrap things up, we made sure to incorporate the entire line of evolution for Tyranitar, starting from Larvitar and Pupitar. Although Larvitar and Pupitar may not be particularly remarkable, Tyranitar packs a powerful punch. Since it’s not an EX card, you don’t need to fret about your opponent gaining extra points when it gets defeated.

Apart from dealing a base 130 damage with its primary attack, Tyrannitar also benefits from having an Arceus EX in play, as it can dish out an additional 30 damage to the opposing Active Pokemon.

Arceus, being a Basic Pokemon, doesn’t need any other cards for evolution, making it effortless to bring it onto the field.

All Trainer cards in deck

A Pokémon deck isn’t whole without including some Trainer cards. Each card picked for the deck plays an important role in shaping its strategy, so make sure to use them thoughtfully.

Initially, we added the freshly introduced Supporter card, Celestic Town Elder, to your collection. This card allows you to transfer a Basic Pokémon from your Discard Pile back into your hand. This feature is beneficial for Arceus EX since it enables you to have more cards on your Bench, thus enhancing its attack power. Additionally, this works well with Tyranitar; if you have an Arceus in your Discard Pile, you can bring it back onto your Bench using this card.

In this deck, we’ve added the standard research work of a Professor as well as the character Sabrina. The Professor’s Research allows you to draw an additional two cards, while Sabrina compels your opponent to exchange their current Active Pokemon with one from their Bench.

This deck has vulnerabilities towards certain kinds of Pokemon. To begin with, Arceus EX is susceptible to Fighting Energy cards. Since many decks focus on this type of card, it’s important to stay alert. Yet, Tyranitar, being a Fighting-type Pokemon, can balance things out a bit.

In simpler terms, Tyranitar’s evolutionary line and Shaymin have vulnerabilities towards Grass and Electric types respectively. However, it’s rare to find decks that include all three types, making these Pokemon less vulnerable in most scenarios.

Strong Against

In a Pokémon game, Normal-type cards don’t always have an advantage over other Pokémon, but Fighting-type cards possess abilities that are effective against multiple types of cards. Both Psychic and Normal-type Pokémon can be vulnerable to Fighting Pokémon, making Tyranitar a potential powerhouse in such a deck, capable of delivering strong attacks at times.
