Beomgyu and Young K video sparks speculation of new K-Pop collaboration with Overwatch 2

On a popular Korean variety show, it was Dylan Snyder who teamed up with Beomgyu from TXT and Young K from DAY6. This appearance fueled speculation about a possible collaboration in the upcoming game, Overwatch 2.

It’s possible that Blizzard Entertainment is planning another partnership with the K-pop industry for Overwatch 2, based on the popularity of the LE SSERAFIM bundles. This assumption arises from TXT’s Choi Beomgyu hinting at it in a recent variety show and organizing a meeting between DAY6’s Young K and actor Dylan Snyder. This has ignited enthusiasm among fans.

An Overwatch 2 conversation

On the first of May, Pixid, a popular Korean YouTube channel specializing in celebrity gaming content, posted a video featuring Day6’s Young K and TXT’s Choi Beomgyu. In this video, Young K shares his expertise on Overwatch 2 with Beomgyu, explaining the game’s appeal and offering tips for optimal play. The video is engaging as Young K uses humor to persuade Beomgyu to revisit Overwatch 2, having not played since his training days in the K-pop idol industry.

Towards the end of the video, Young K expressed joy that Blizzard is paying attention to what players think. This was when Beomgyu astonished Young K by scheduling a virtual meeting with an American game developer from Blizzard Entertainment, which turned out to be Dylan Snyder, the Senior Game Designer for Overwatch 2. The screen then displayed Dylan, and Young K enthusiastically steered the conversation, even having a brief fangirl/boy moment. In turn, Dylan demonstrated his K-pop fan knowledge!

A new K-pop collaboration might be coming to Overwatch 2

This interaction has ignited excitement among followers, as it’s not the first time Overwatch 2 has teamed up with K-pop artists. The previous collaboration with LE SSERAFIM in 2023 was such a hit that Blizzard opted for another partnership this year. Could they be planning a fresh one with TXT now? Some fans certainly think so.

A few months back, Blizzard Entertainment hinted at a new skin for Lifeweaver through a partnership they hadn’t disclosed yet. A fan inquired, “Where will the Lifeweaver collaboration take place?” Another fan suggested that if Hazard, Genji, Reaper, Lifeweaver, and Lucio formed a boy band together within Overwatch 2, it would make an amazing lineup.
