Bentley Shows Off Le Mans-Inspired Apex Edition Bentayga

Mark King received an exceptional Apex Edition Bentayga from Bentley, making it a unique duo with his 2023 Le Mans Collection Continental GT, both vehicles sharing a distinctive Le Mans theme.

Among the twenty custom-made pieces by Mulliner, King’s bespoke Bentayga shares the unique Verdant green and Moonbeam racing stripe paint job, which reflects Bentley’s iconic 2003 Le Mans win livery. This is a homage to Bentley’s anticipated return to Le Mans victory in 2023, ending a 73-year gap since their last triumph on the podium. This specific design was limited to owners of the Le Mans Collection.

The Apex Edition, modeled after the Bentayga S, boasts a 542 hp 4L V8 engine that can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. This high-performance vehicle is equipped with Bentley Dynamic Ride, rear-wheel steering, large 22-inch Mulliner carbon wheels, and carbon-ceramic brakes, making it the most performance-oriented Bentayga ever produced. Its interior showcases Beluga hide and Dinamica fabric seats with Hotspur contrast stitching, mirroring the Le Mans model’s racing-inspired design.

King, an avid Bentley enthusiast from Northern Ireland since 2010, boasts a garage that’s a testament to his discerning taste. Among the treasured possessions in his collection are a Bentayga Speed, Continental GT3-R and Flying Spur. Remarkably, King still frequently uses his well-traveled Bentayga Speed (with more than 100,000 miles on the odometer) for towing some of his other cherished vehicles as well.

As a game enthusiast, I couldn’t wait when the Le Mans Continental GT was unveiled. And when the opportunity came to grab the Apex Edition Bentayga with matching colors, it felt like the ideal move to finish my gaming garage collection!

The two vehicles honor Bentley’s sixth win at Le Mans, and one Continental GT model showcases distinctive elements such as a rotating screen with an authentic engine valve from the 2003 Speed 8 race car. Taken together, these twin vehicles represent a substantial tribute to Bentley’s racing heritage and craftsmanship.
