Benny Blanco reveals shock detail in wedding plans with Selena Gomez as he makes a surprise appearance on Australian television

Benny Blanco has revealed a little-known detail about his wedding to Selena Gomez.

On Wednesday, the music producer who popped the question to the artist behind “Lose You To Love Me” in December, made an appearance on the Today show. During this interview, he talked about his music, his new album collaborating with his fiancée, and their forthcoming wedding.

In conversation with Richard Wilkins, the recipient of the Hal David Starlight award confessed that life has never been more wonderful following his engagement to Selena and the release of their debut joint album titled ‘I Said I Love You First’, which made its way onto airwaves in March.

In most cases, once people get engaged, they start planning a wedding. However, you and Selena are opting for creating an album instead, as Richard humorously pointed out to Benny.

Regarding the creation of their album, Benny (whose real name is Benjamin Joseph Levin) disclosed that it wasn’t a deliberate plan between them; instead, it spontaneously came to be.

Initially, we began creating music at home merely for some amusement. To our surprise, it quickly evolved into more than just a single tune, then two tunes, three tunes, and eventually four!

He continued by saying, “She was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. I’d choose working with her over anyone else for that matter, as there’s an added bonus – I get to share a sweet kiss with her in the end.

Sharing details about the highly discussed upcoming wedding, including the expected high-profile attendees, Benny hinted that his close friend and renowned musician, Ed Sheeran, had already responded positively to the invitation.

‘I just told him [Ed], “I’m gonna have a wedding and you’re gonna come to the wedding’,’ he said.

Later, it was disclosed that they hadn’t extended any invitations to their high-profile friends nor decided on a wedding date.

I assured them that my good friend, Ed, will certainly join us at our future wedding celebration, once the date has been set. However, as of now, we haven’t arranged a wedding date just yet, but rest assured, it is on the horizon!

In December 2023, it was made official that Benny and Selena were in a relationship, and they became engaged exactly one year later.

‘Forever starts now,’ Selena wrote at the time, showing off her sparkling diamond ring.

Regarding their forthcoming wedding, the actress from “The Only Murders in the Building” confessed that she intends to skip the traditional bridal waltz at the reception as she’s rather bashful about it.

She expressed that it seemed unlikely such a situation would occur, as she felt somewhat uncomfortable discussing it.

However, unlike a typical first dance, Selena has planned a poignant alternative – a significant dance with her grandfather, creating a unique and emotional memory instead.

‘He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle,’ she shared.

‘I wanted to give [my grandfather] the opportunity to have that.’
