Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film, Wife & Dog, boasts an impressive cast featuring Rosamund Pike, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Hopkins, Paddy Considine, and Cosmo Jarvis. While fans might expect to see Jason Statham or Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch will be filling a similar role in the movie.
Details about the story are still scarce, but it’s expected to be set within the competitive and often ruthless environment of British high society. The show’s style will likely be similar to that of The Gentlemen, which was adapted into a Netflix series.
In an interview with Collider, Cumberbatch explained that the movie draws inspiration from the director’s past films, but takes things to a new level.

He definitely works within the conventions of his genre, but he’s also added a fresh and unique twist to it, according to him.
I’m trying not to spoil the surprise, but this gift is really special and unlike anything he usually gets. It’s a deeply meaningful item.

It was amazing to work with such a talented cast. The role was a fun departure for me – a bit of a tough guy, like Tom Hardy or Jason Statham. I really enjoyed it.
I really care for him. He’s incredibly authentic and doesn’t compromise who he is, which makes working with him very easy and direct – you always know where you stand. He’s a genuinely kind and wonderful person.
Ritchie is working on several exciting new projects, including returning seasons of his shows MobLand and The Gentlemen. He’s also developing the film In the Grey and another project called Viva la Madness.

Meanwhile, Cumberbatch’s new film The Thing with Feathers has just released.
Okay, so the game’s about a guy who totally falls apart after his wife dies. He starts seeing this creepy, crow-like thing, and it messes with his head. It’s a really unsettling story about losing it, basically.
People have had varying opinions about the movie. While many have praised Benedict Cumberbatch’s acting, they generally feel the film itself isn’t very good.
Wife & Dog does not currently have an announced release date.
