Ben Whishaw joins iconic Bond actor in new thriller

Ben Whishaw has joined a fellow iconic James Bond actor in a new thriller movie.

In a upcoming movie, the character Diamond Shitter will share screen time with Eva Green, who previously portrayed Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale, a film released prior to Whishaw’s involvement in the series.

In their upcoming movie, the duo will be joined by Alessandro Nivola from “The Brutalist” and Raffey Cassidy. This film is directed by Antonia Campbell-Hughes, who recently collaborated with Whishaw in “Black Doves.

As reported by Deadline, the movie “Diamond Shitter” focuses on a group of high-class expatriates residing in Geneva. In this story, a young intern named Nollaig (Cassidy) secretly takes valuable diamonds from her well-off host family.

Nevertheless, as she assimilated the jewels within her, she uncovers profound realities hidden beneath the opulence of her family’s status.

In this production, Whishaw takes on the role of Nigel, Nollaig’s mentor. Meanwhile, Green and Nivola are cast as Helen, the host mother, and David, the host father, respectively.

Speaking about a time when we’re emotionally drained, Campbell-Hughes (previously known for directing It Is In Us All) expressed a longing for the raw essence of fairness. “This movie serves as a passionate outcry,” she said, “an intense journey delving into the heartbreaking vulnerability inherent in being human.

I aim to restore hope, reevaluate what truly matters in our fast-paced society. I’ve discovered an incredibly captivating group of actors to breathe life into this intense work, which has been my passion for more than ten years.

Rory Gilmartin, the producer, commented: “It Is In Us All showcases Antonia as an extraordinary new talent in filmmaking. Following her up with “Diamond Shitter” seems like a logical progression – it’s intense, thought-provoking, and full of drive and meaning. We can’t wait to bring this film to the big screen.

Apart from “Peter Hujar’s Day,” there are other projects in which Benedict Cumberbatch, or Whishaw as you mentioned, will be featured. The upcoming film centers around the true tale of photographer Peter Hujar and writer Lisa Rosenkrantz, portrayed by Rebecca Hall.

Diamond Shitter is currently in pre-production, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
