Ben Cousins channels Heath Ledger’s iconic Joker character as he dons the costume for a family Halloween
As a devoted fan who has followed Ben Cousins’ journey through thick and thin, I must say that this Halloween family fun moment was absolutely heartwarming! Seeing him donning the iconic Joker costume, reminiscent of Heath Ledger’s unforgettable portrayal in The Dark Knight, truly brought a smile to my face.
AFL legend Ben Cousins stepped out for some family Halloween fun on Thursday.
46-year-old Brownlow Medal winner adorned the well-known Joker makeup, which gained popularity from Heath Ledger’s depiction of the infamous antagonist in the 2008 movie “The Dark Knight”.
Additionally, he donned a vibrant purple coat layered over a light blue waistcoat and an orange blouse, harmonizing perfectly with his eye-catching Joker attire that included plaid trousers.
Ben stepped out with children Angelique, 10, and Bobby, 12, and all three came dressed to impress.
Angelique donned the iconic black and white striped Beetlejuice costume, whereas Bobby was pictured with ghastly makeup that resembled a zombie’s wounds on his visage.
In another photo, Ben was seen alongside his daughter, both of them posing confidently near the front staircase railing, reinforcing the elegant appearance of their home.
The railing was adorned with a spooky witch to shock would-be trick or treaters.
Ben labeled a set of eerie photos on Instagram with ‘Is it a trick or a treat?’, followed by ghost and pumpkin emoji symbols.
Ben’s fans were quick to comment on the post, with many praising the trio’s amount of effort.
One commented, “Excellent work on the Joker, Ben! You all appear fantastic,” while another chimed in with a comparable sentiment: “Wow, that’s really impressive, Cuz!” (Informal)
‘Great costumes!! And your making great memories with ya kiddo’s!! How life is meant to be.’
Others were delighted to witness Ben’s affectionate fatherhood, as they exclaimed things like, “It’s heartwarming to see you bonding with your children.
The retired footballer shares the two children with his former partner, Maylea Tinecheff.
After experiencing a decline in reputation in recent years, Ben has disclosed that participating in the 2024 season of Dancing with the Stars revitalized his love for sports once more.
In June, the AFL icon of 45 years shared with the Herald Sun his longing for the thrill of competition and his inability to satisfy this craving.
‘I love the lifestyle of a professional athlete and I missed it,’ he said.
Initially, I assumed this process would last around six to eight, or even ten weeks, with me merely enduring each day until it was over. However, things turned out to be quite different.
Ben went on to say that he did not want the experience to end.
He remarked, “A week before the event ended, I started feeling a bit melancholic. I didn’t really fancy going back home.
“Even now, it’s hard for me to believe; it’s almost unthinkable. Yet, I found myself captivated by it, utterly amazing.
