Ben Affleck’s Unforgettable Day with Tom Brady: Better Than Childbirth?
Ben Affleck shared that Tom Brady granted him a day he’ll never forget, second only to the days his children were born.
The 52-year-old actor, currently involved in a public spat with his former partner Jennifer Lopez, recently featured as a guest on the New Heights podcast, which is co-hosted by Travis Kelce (Taylor Swift’s boyfriend) and his brother Jason.
In a broadcasted episode on Wednesday, Ben reminisced about an impactful experience – playing football with a seven-time Super Bowl champion who was 47 years old at the time, and they shared the thrill of running routes together.
Jason inquired: ‘How many times were the tasks finished? Could you tell me what you were working on? And what type of paths were you following?’
Ben responded: ‘I’ll be honest with you. I’m not certain if they go by a specific name. However, I probably embarrassed every player who has ever taken the field. Yet, apart from the arrival of my kids, that day remains one of the most remarkable in my life.’
Celebrity has three kids, Violet Anne (age 19), Seraphina Rose (age 16), and Samuel (age 13), whom he shares with former wife Jennifer Garner.

Ben shared the story behind their impromptu athletic gathering, which took place when they unexpectedly found themselves both holidaying at the same spot. He was seeking a partner for a game of catch.
In a reminiscence, the actor from The Town mused: ‘I remember pondering how greatly I was assisting him. It seemed to me that he exclaimed, “I’m about to explode this guy right out of the vehicle.” As we swiftly arrived at the scene, initially he instructed me, “Step outside here, turn around, turn around.”
In a recollection, the actor from The Town pondered over his assistance, thinking he said, “I’m going to blow this guy out of the car.” Upon arriving, the man told him to step out, turn around.)
“So, I nod and sprint as quickly as possible, turning back to find him who had been waiting for 45 minutes. The thought of further injuring my nose made me catch the ball more than anything else. After a while, he suggests inflating it. I reply, ‘No, it’s fast enough already.'”
This version aims to keep the original meaning and flow while using simpler language and avoiding colloquial expressions like “fix to” and “be like.” It also clarifies that “he” refers to the person who was waiting and simplifies the phrase “caught the ball” with a more common expression, ‘I caught it.’
Ben continued by explaining that Tom asked him to act out a scenario: imagine it’s the final minutes of a football match, the score is close, there are just 23 seconds remaining on the clock, and the team requires a crucial play to win, with a fourth down and a distance of 18 yards to cover.
The well-known quarterback signaled for him to ‘simply sprint’, as Ben put it: ‘So he said, look, look, shouts it out. I began to dash, didn’t glance back. To him, it likely appeared that way. He said, “I’ve rarely seen someone run so slowly in slow motion.” To me, I was moving as quickly as possible.
I can’t help but wonder when the ball will appear. Suddenly, there it is, right in front of me, just a bit too far for me to grab immediately. It seems like someone readjusted it, so I stretch my arm as far as I can and manage to catch it.
The two professional NFL stars, known as the Kelce brothers, pumped up Ben with encouragement, shouting “Let’s do it!” while praising his remarkable physical feat as he recounted it.
Ben said that he told ‘everybody he knew’ that he was able to do it before gushing about Tom.

He mentioned: “That felt like the kindest act anyone has ever done for me, and it filled my life with dreams. In that very moment while we were playing catch.
In February 2024, it was Ben who teamed up with Tom to create the highly acclaimed Dunkin’ Donuts Super Bowl advertisement, known as ‘DunKings’.
During the Netflix Is a Joke Fest event in May 2024, the actor received criticism for his performance at The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. This roast was broadcast live.
The act included several uncomfortable jokes and an extended critique of internet bullies, earning it the title of the least enjoyable performance for some on Twitter that evening.
Before speaking with Bill Belichick, Affleck had quipped that he might not get another job following the event.
