Ben Affleck takes a break from McDonald’s as he grabs chicken fingers with son Samuel at fast food restaurant

Ben Affleck enjoyed quality time with his mini-me son Samuel over the weekend.

On Saturday, the 53-year-old actor, originally from Boston, and his teenage child—whom he shares with his former wife, Jennifer Garner—went through the drive-thru at Raising Cane’s.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I was scrolling through pics and saw it was Ben Affleck – BEN AFFLECK! – grabbing McDonald’s through the drive-thru! And it wasn’t just any drive-thru, it was in his super fancy black car with his little boy right there beside him. It’s the most amazing, relatable thing ever! He’s just like us, needing a quick bite, and I’m officially obsessed.

He had a thick, unkempt beard and his dark hair was short and a little messy during the event.

In addition to Samuel, Affleck and Garner, 53, also share Violet, 20, and Fin, 17.

Oh my gosh, I still remember when they first got married back in 2005! It felt like a fairytale. Then, after ten years, things started falling apart, and they separated in 2015. It was so heartbreaking! Honestly, even though everyone knew it was over, it wasn’t official until the divorce was finalized in 2018. It felt like the end of an era, truly.

I was listening to Jennifer Garner on the Bustle podcast, and she explained it so perfectly. When our kids are raised between two homes, it means I naturally step into both the ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ roles, and their other parent does the same – they become both mom and dad too. It’s just how it works when you co-parent!

It’s understandable if it’s difficult. When parents are separated, it’s important to try and offer a balance of both perspectives to your child, since they aren’t getting that naturally from having both parents under one roof.

While it’s sad to see some things change, there’s also a positive side. It’s taught me to accept things as they come and worry less about controlling how things unfold.

Affleck also recently opened up about raising kids as a public figure.

He explained to E! News in January that having a public life creates challenges when it comes to raising children.

Honestly, I totally get why they’re taking a hands-off approach with their kids’ careers. He said they just want to let them discover their own passions and figure things out for themselves, and I think that’s amazing! It’s like, they’re not pushing them into anything, just letting them bloom into whatever they’re meant to be, and it makes me love them even more!

He added that he wouldn’t want to pressure them into pursuing acting. He expressed how much he loves and is proud of them, and hopes they find fulfilling paths in life.

Samuel and Fin are both students, focusing on their studies. Violet, who attends Yale University, is also dedicated to making a difference as an activist working on public health and climate issues.

Affleck was married to second wife Jennifer Lopez, 56, from 2022-2024.

She recently shared that she’s enjoying being single and isn’t looking to date again anytime soon. This comes after she filed for divorce from the actor almost two years ago.

In a Nightline interview with Juju Chang, the actress was asked if she is ‘dating up a storm.’

Honestly, the thought just didn’t even cross my mind! I’m really enjoying things as they are, and the last thing I want to do is mess that up. I’m genuinely happy and feeling fantastic right now, and I’d like to keep it that way. It’s just a really good place to be, and I’m savoring it.

Lopez also admitted being single ‘was a scary thing for me when I was younger.’

‘I didn’t know if I could do that,’ she continued. ‘I was always really afraid to be alone.’
