Captain Kerry Titheradge from Below Deck has announced his breakup with his girlfriend, Gönül Bihan, in an interview with The Daily Mail.
Fifty-year-old Titheradge explained the difficult choice to end his nearly six-year relationship with Bihan, revealing he’d been considering the split even while attending BravoCon.
Titheradge was deeply preoccupied with the future of his relationship while at the November 2025 convention, and this worry prevented him from fully enjoying the present.
He was facing a difficult decision about his relationship, which had lasted almost six years. He explained to the Daily Mail that after investing so much effort, he realized it was time to end things.
He explained that he spent a lot of time at BravoCon thinking about the future of his relationship. He admitted he was mostly lost in thought during the event.
With his relationship in limbo, Titheradge admits he ‘wasn’t on point’ at BravoCon.
He explained that he wasn’t at his best this year because he was dealing with personal issues and hadn’t fully focused on his work with the panels.
Captain Glenn Titheradge and his partner, Bihan, had been together for six years before he appeared on Below Deck in 2022. At BravoCon in 2023, Titheradge publicly called Bihan ‘the love of my life’.
Titheradge is a well-known and popular captain who seemed ideal for the reality show about yachting.
I began my career on the water at 18 years old,” Titheradge explained. “I’ve worked on all sorts of boats – parasailing boats, tugs, landing craft, dredges, ferries, and water taxis. I transitioned into yachting in 2004.
Captain Titheradge is used to facing challenges at sea and always puts the safety of his crew and passengers first.
As a long-time fan, I was really disturbed when news broke in 2023 about the serious misconduct allegations on the set of Below Deck: Down Under. It quickly became the main concern for everyone – rightfully so – because the safety and well-being of the crew is what really matters. It was a tough situation, and I was glad to see the issue being addressed, but it definitely cast a shadow over the season.
Luke Jones and Laura Bileskalne were dismissed from the show after each of them engaged in inappropriate behavior with fellow crew members without their permission, as depicted in a 2023 episode.
It’s an issue that Titheradge, who was not on that particular show, has ‘zero tolerance’ for.
Honestly, it just breaks my heart to hear about all this. He’s absolutely right, though – everyone on set, the whole team, has a responsibility to speak up if something’s wrong. I mean, he expects his people to do the right thing, and frankly, I expect it too! It’s just awful, but I have so much respect for him for saying it.
We all have empathy and want to help others avoid difficult times. It’s simply human nature to look out for one another and offer support.
‘So absolutely, I have zero tolerance for sexual harassment, and intimidation, bullying.
He explained that a crew member, Kyle Dickard, was quickly removed from ‘Below Deck Adventure’ after being seen bullying a staff member. He emphasized that such behavior isn’t tolerated and there are no second chances for it.
Dickard was asked to leave the show after being accused of making violent threats against a crew member.
Video footage showed Dickard challenging his roommate to a physical fight – using the word ‘tussle’ – after a disagreement about the bathroom. He then agreed to resign after admitting to using that language, as offered by Titheradge.
Titheradge remembered intervening when he saw Dickard was pressuring a female crew member.
Even though she said she could manage, Titheradge wasn’t convinced.
I recall speaking with one of the girls because a certain person was pressuring her quite a bit. I asked her how she was doing with it, and she said she could handle it, but I immediately thought that wasn’t the right response.
He explained that they weren’t responsible for dealing with these issues, and that people shouldn’t feel obligated to handle them on their own. He emphasized that times have changed since the mid-20th century, and that everyone deserves equal respect.
Okay, so here’s what I’m hearing: Apparently, Dickard kissed one of the stewards, Kasie Faddah, on the cheek while they were out on an excursion. A guest actually encouraged him to do it, and word got back to me about the whole thing. It’s definitely creating some buzz, let me tell you!
After hearing about the flirting, Titheradge spoke with Faddah and asked if it had made her feel uneasy.
Honestly, I admit I took it. It wasn’t really Kyle’s fault, though – the other guests were encouraging him, and I truly believe he was just being playful and friendly.
‘That’s not OK,’ Titheradge said. ‘You shouldn’t be put in that position.’
Titheradge explained that while he and his colleagues are happy to participate in guests’ enjoyment, there are boundaries. He felt Kyle went too far, stating that no one should be made to feel uncomfortable, especially in front of others. He believes people often put up with unwanted behavior to avoid causing a scene, which is a terrible situation to put anyone in.
As a lifestyle expert, I always try to be mindful of boundaries, and I’ve shared with The Daily Mail that I’m ready to step in if I feel a situation is becoming inappropriate or disrespectful. It’s about creating a comfortable and positive environment for everyone involved.
This industry attracts a lot of people who are physically attractive, and there’s often flirting between colleagues. However, if someone makes you uncomfortable and continues to do so after you’ve clearly asked them to stop, that’s a serious issue.
Everyone makes mistakes and sometimes misinterprets things. We shouldn’t be afraid to offer a compliment, but if something makes someone uncomfortable, that’s important. If I notice someone is holding back or seems uneasy after I say something, I understand they shouldn’t feel pressured to handle it if they’re not comfortable. It’s okay to acknowledge that and simply say, ‘No,’ to something that feels wrong.
The Daily Mail sought responses from Dickard, Bileskalne, and Bravo, but Jones declined to comment when contacted.
Titheradge said he uses a ‘firm but fair’ approach when it comes to managing his crew.
He described his management style as firm but fair, something he believes has been consistent throughout his time leading the team. However, he warned that he won’t tolerate anyone mistaking his kindness for weakness. He made it clear that he fully supports those who are willing to work hard and commit themselves, but won’t hesitate to respond strongly to those who try to take advantage of him.
Everyone makes mistakes, and I’m no exception. I’ve certainly had my share, and I likely will again. I’m here to support you, but I won’t waste my time on those who aren’t genuine.
Titheradge is not only guiding his crew, but he’s also discovered the show has been a valuable journey of self-discovery, and he appreciates that.
After a difficult divorce from Jennifer, the mother of his two children, Titheradge felt lost and unsure of what to do next.
He shared with the Mail that this experience significantly changed how he approached his work, especially his way of leading a team.
Honestly, hearing him talk about his divorce was really impactful for me. He explained that it led to a truly difficult period of depression, and it was clear how deeply it affected him. It felt like a really vulnerable thing for him to share, and it gave me a new understanding of what he’s been through.
I was at a crossroads, facing a difficult decision. I could either succumb to my problems by turning left and drinking, or confront them by turning right and honestly examine my own role in things, ultimately discovering who I truly am.
‘And go from there and have more compassion for other people. So, that’s what really changed it.’
The captain also appreciated how the show helped him gain self-awareness. He explained, ‘It’s amazing to have a record of myself that reveals my true personality, not just how I perceive it.’
Titheradge is dedicated to helping others, even outside of the show, and he values the platform his fame provides for doing so.
He explained that a major reason he’s continued with the show is that it’s given him a chance to highlight issues much larger than himself.
Titheradge has supported several charities, including GDS Husky Rescue, Wounded Warriors, the Blue Jacket Fashion Show, and Furry Friends. He’s also given to organizations that help children who have experienced bullying, a cause that’s personally important to him.
In addition to managing yachts through his company, Yachting Concepts, Titheradge is launching a podcast called Charting The Course, which will explore topics including mental health.
‘It’s gonna be based on, mental health, mentorship and travel,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Below Deck will soon be returning to the small screen.
Bravo announced at BravoCon 2025 that both Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean will return for more seasons. Below Deck has been renewed for a 13th season, and Below Deck Mediterranean will be back for its 11th.
Below Deck: Down Under will also be returning for a fourth season on February 2.
