Actors Stephanie Beatriz and Max Greenfield have been announced as the newest additions to the cast of Netflix‘s upcoming comedy titled “Don’t Say Good Luck.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share the news that the dynamic duo, famously recognized for their hilarious roles in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “New Girl,” are rumored to be part of an upcoming movie cast. This heartwarming production revolves around a high school student named Sunny Sandler, who discovers a life-altering truth: her mother is battling terminal cancer.
As reported by Deadline, the previously mentioned group is set to join an impressive ensemble for an upcoming coming-of-age comedy. Actresses Melanie Lynskey, Bebe Neuwirth, and Steve Buscemi have officially signed up for this exciting venture.
The movie is currently being helmed by Julia Hart, a joint writer of the script with Laura Hankin and Jordan Horowitz. As per What’s On Netflix, filming began in New Jersey this week and is anticipated to continue for around six weeks.
The story, titled “Don’t Say Good Luck“, centers on a 15-year-old girl named Sophie Birenbaum, who learns that her mother, whom she believed was in remission from cancer, has been diagnosed with terminal illness instead.
16-year-old Sophie finds herself juggling challenges and changes, such as leading her school’s musical production, watching her friends venture into romantic relationships, all while grappling with a profound grief. Through these trials, she learns the significance of embracing life wholeheartedly amidst adversity.
In a recent reunion, actress Beatriz, known for her role as Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has teamed up with series creator Michael Schur for the new show, A Man on the Inside. This intriguing series focuses on a retired professor (played by Ted Danson) who embarks on a fresh adventure as an assistant to a private detective.
The show, modeled after the 2020 documentary “The Mole Agent,” has been greenlit for a second installment as of December, and production began recently, eyeing a potential launch by the end of this year.
In the latest development, the actor known for portraying Schmidt in “New Girl”, namely Greenfield, has made an appearance in Netflix’s humorous sports series titled “Running Point”. This show revolves around a professional basketball team and had a successful debut earlier this year, prompting Netflix to renew it for another season.
